Loki had been doing some serious thinking since she left Wood. The only wolf she ever loved, the father of her son and daughter, was horrible, her friendship with Wood was ruined forever, and her best friend died. Things weren't going too well.

She knew how manipulative Aries was, as stated many times before. He wouldn't even explain to her why he was so cruel to his pack.

Loki had been considering leaving Aries, too. He obviously didn't truly love her, if he wasn't willing to change his ways not only for her, but for everyone's sake. Wood would be his friend again in a heartbeat if he changed. They could be mates without having to hide it.

Evelyn was right. Aries was terrible for her, and she knew it. So why couldn't she find the strange to leave him? Because she loved him so much.

"Loki. How are you holding up?" Misa approached Loki from behind her.

"Oh, I'm doing okay...how are you? With everything?"

"I just can't stop thinking about how horrible Kenya and Keaton must feel."

"It broke my heart seeing the way Kenya looked while we set off Evelyn."

"I'll miss her so much." Misa sighed. "Do you think she's watching over us right now?"

"I'm sure she is. She's up there laughing and messing around with her brother, her old friends, everyone she's ever lost. I bet she's happy."

"You're right," Misa smiled. "She deserves to be."

"Kenya!" Sky barged into Kenya's den, and Kenya jumped up in surprise.

"AHHHH!" She barked.

"KENYA! I'M SO SORRY!"

"Wuh...What? For what?"

"I DIDN'T KNOW YOUR MOM DIED!"

"H-Huh...? Uh..." Kenya flattened her ears. "Apology accepted...?"

"Yay! So you're not mad at me anymore?"

"Sky, you're really inscrutable sometimes." Kenya flicked her tail. "Why would I be mad at you...?"

"I...I've been real insensitive. I didn't even try 'ta comfort you. And you're my friend, you would've thought I'd try to help."

"Well, now that you now, you can make up for it...will you stay here with me, just for a little while?" Kenya flattened her ears.

"Hey, I'll stay with you as long as you want me to!" Sky took a step forward. "Anyway, where's your dad? Keaton?"

"He went to go take a walk." Kenya shrugged.

"Okay...do you need anything?"

"Just some comfort." Kenya sighed.

So, Sky stayed with her for the rest of the day. She didn't even bother to show up to her daily patrol, which she probably would get in trouble for later, but she didn't care. All she cared about right now was making sure Kenya didn't feel alone.

"Stormjay, I've been wondering something for the past couple of days..." Bright Moon's ears perked up. The two of them were taking a break, sitting outside the shaman resources den.

"What is it?" Stormjay asked her.

"I've never heard anything about having cougar problems in The Pack of the Earth. I mean, I've heard of wolves dying from bear attacks, but don't most cougars live further up in the mountains, outside the East Forests?"
