Loki had been missing for two days. There was no trace of her.
A pack meeting was being held in the middle of the Main Territory. Wood had created a burrow for him to sleep in near the center, since he was no longer sharing a den with Loki, and he and Daruk sat on a large rock right next to it as everyone gathered by them.
"First Evelyn, now Loki..." Perlina sighed. "What did she get herself into...?"
"It had to be The Pack of the Fire!" Bright Moon snapped. "There's no other answer."
"She usually takes walks in the evenings by herself..." Stormjay flicked his tail. "They could've easily kidnapped her while she was alone."
"That seems to be the most likely solution." A slightly sick Jupiter nodded, leaning against Ragna.
"We gotta beat 'em up and bring my mom home!" Sky yelped.
Stormjay could barely focus. He was so overwhelmed and worried by the idea that his mother had most likely been kidnapped and he didn't know what was happening. Everyone was arguing back and forth, debating whether they should attack The Pack of the Fire today, but he had just toned it all out. He didn't know any battle techniques, so he couldn't help out anyway.
Bright Moon whispered something to Kiara who was next to her. Kiara gave her a sad nod.
Bright Moon then wrapped her tail around Stormjay's back and pulled him aside to the Shaman Resources den. They entered the den and Bright Moon immediately nuzzled him, making Stormjay blush.
"You seemed real stressed out." Bright Moon flattened her ears. "You good?"
"Not...really." Stormjay sighed. "I don't know what's happening to her. We don't even know if she's alive. I just want my mom back..."
"Hey, we'll attack The Pack of the Fire for this, okay? Everyone's working so hard to get her home. And when she comes back, you, Kiara and I will treat any wounds she has. Okay?"
"We don't even know if she's alive. What if they already killed her? I mean, I don't know why they'd just kidnap one of us and not attack us."
"Your mom doesn't go down easily. She's pretty freaking tough. I bet she's doing whatever she can to get home."
"I dunno, Bright Moon... I just can't stop worrying about her."
"You shouldn't be so pessimistic all the time... you gotta remember how strong she is. She'll be home. I can almost guarantee she's gonna be okay."
"Hey...it's sweet of you to try and comfort me, but we can't just expect everything to be fine. But if you're really so sure... I'll try and believe in her."
"That's...kind of the spirit." Bright Moon smiled. "Hey, man, is there anything I can do?"
"Eh...I think you're fine...thank you."
"God, why is Aries like this...? I've heard he was really cool before he became chieftain...what happened...?"
"Is it just gonna be like this forever? Are we just never gonna know? Him and my father were best friends. It's just confusing."
"Oh...how's Sky doing...?"
"She just...doesn't seem to know the extent of what's happening. She's angry, but I don't know if she knows that this could mean our mother is dead. Just like Kenya's mother."
"Should we let her know...?"
"Ignorance is bliss in this kind of situation. I don't wanna stress her out too much."
"I get it...but doesn't she deserve to know...?"
"She's too innocent for this. I'm just gonna let her stay optimistic."
