Roscoe had come home late that night after a long patrol with Misa, Calvin, and Sakura. He had a lot of fun with them, since he liked all of them a lot, but it was quite tiring being out all day like that.

He saw being alone with Alpine and Leia for the rest of the night as an opportunity to ask them the question about his past that had been bothering him for a little while.

"So, guys," Roscoe paused. "Uhm...didn't you say that...my dad was a wolf from The Pack of the Earth who got with a wolf from The Pack of the Fire?"

"...Yeah, that's right." Alpine nodded.

"So..." Roscoe began.

"You wanna know who your parents were?" Leia asked.

"...Yeah. That's what I was gonna ask." Roscoe flattened his ears.

"It was-"

"Wait, Leia, don't." Alpine cut her off. "We...we gotta ease into it, remember?"

"Okay...right." Leia sighed. "Right. Alpine, how about you start?"

Alpine nodded. "We...we have avoided this question for a while now."

"I've noticed..." Roscoe nodded. "Why's that?"

"Because...it's someone you've met before." Alpine told him. "Like...after you lost your memory."

"...Wait, what!?" Roscoe took a step back. "I knew my parents?"

"Well, I don't believe you know your mother, but..." Leia paused for a moment. "You...you definitely know your father."

"What, is he still alive?" Roscoe asked. "I don't think anyone in The Pack of the Earth as of now would have a pup with a Pack of the Fire she-wolf and just...abandon me."

"...Probably not anyone in the pack right now..." Alpine sighed.

"Right now?" Roscoe asked. "...What do you mean...?"

"...Do you have an idea as to who he is, now?" Leia asked. "He's alive, but left The Pack of the Earth."

"...Left The Pack of the Earth..." Roscoe was trying to avoid saying the name of the wolf he thought it was. "...When?"

"Like...this summer." Alpine sighed.

"...No." Roscoe froze in place. "You're absolutely fucking with me right now."

Leia and Alpine glanced at each other and simultaneously sighed pitifully.

"I-I swear to god, i-if this is some kind of sick joke..!" Roscoe barked.

"...I'm sorry." Leia flattened her ears slightly. "Th-this must be hard to hear, but-"

"I mean, hell yeah it's hard to hear!" Roscoe snapped, trembling slightly. Despite his seemingly angry reaction, his eyes shined with disbelief and shock.

This entire fucking time. The worst person to ever walk this Earth. He's my dad.

"P-Please! End this now! Hahaha, guys, you got me! See?! I know it's a joke! Ooh, you got me good!" Roscoe started letting out incredibly forced laughter. He was so distressed, that he wouldn't even be angry if Alpine and Leia were messing with him at this point. Just knowing it wasn't true would make him feel better.

"...Roscoe, it's...it's not." Alpine took a step forward.

"I-I...I'm related to that...that bastard?!" Roscoe clenched his teeth, his claws subconsciously digging deep into the dirt below him.
