"W-Wait..." Calvin took a step back, his heart pounding out of his chest. "T...Traitor..!? Who?!"
"Daruk isn't the one who killed me..." Callan explained. "I don't know their motivations, or why they'd do this, b-but...the one who killed me is-"
...
And the dream ended. At the worst possible time.
No...no! Calvin panicked. No! No! NO!
"Oh, you're awake," Kaia smiled at him, as she was about to head out of their shared den. "Did you sleep well?"
"I...I...s-sorry, I have to go." Calvin muttered, immediately standing up with a small huff under his breath, heading towards the exit of their den.
"...Are you alright?" She asked, worry in her tone.
Calvin walked right past her. He hadn't ever ignored his daughter like this before, but he knew that he needed to report this to Wood immediately. He didn't even have time to feel bad about it - his mind and body were only focused on one thing right now.
Calvin was, truthfully, scared of Wood. He had been slightly intimidated by him before, despite what Kiara would say about him, and that fear only escalated after everything that happened with Perlina. Now, since she was gone, Calvin felt horrible about the way he treated her, and especially for attacking her. He would have killed her, most likely.
"Wood..!" Calvin sprinted to Wood as soon as he spotted him in the crowd, his heart still pounding and his body trembling. He felt a terrible pain, as if someone had struck him in the chest a hundred times.
"Hm? Is something wrong?" Wood asked as he turned his head to meet Calvin's terrified expression. His tremendously deep voice always frightened Calvin a bit.
"I...something happened...it's really important...ugh..." He shuddered. "So...awful..."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Wood shut his eyes for a moment. "You seem very upset...why don't we talk in my den for a moment? I'll help you calm down, and then you can tell me what's going on."
"A-Alright..." Calvin trembled. Why doesn't he hate me..?
"Wood..." Calvin felt chills down his spine. "I...It's something I have to tell you right away," He explained. "No time for me to get calmed down..." He muttered as they entered Wood's nicely organized den.
"Are you sure?" Wood asked.
"Yeah...like, now..."
"Go ahead. I'm all ears."
"I...I got a dream from The Pack of the Stars!" He proclaimed.
"Oh?" Wood's ears perked up with interest.
"I-It...it was from Callan...I met Callan..." Calvin shuddered.
"...Uh, are you not Calvin..?"
"I said Callan," He emphasized. "Sorry..."
"Oh, my apologies. Do go on."
"I...I...he said he had something important to tell me, and then...he told me..." Calvin took a deep breath in. What he was about to say would change the course of things forever.
The one who truly killed Callan...
Is still a member of The Pack of the Earth.
"He...he told me...that...Daruk didn't...actually kill him..."
Wood froze for a moment, his eyes widening ever so slightly.
"...Hm?"
"The one who killed him...is still right here, in The Pack of the Earth!" He quickly declared. "A-And then...the dream ended! It was too late...he didn't get the chance to tell me..!"
