Three years later:

|| Jotaro:

"Jotaro, don't leave yet. Silly boy, you forgot something. Here's your goodbye kiss!" Holly happily skipped over to her son to kiss him on the cheek. The boy begrudgingly let it happen. "Stop clinging to me like I'm still a little kid, you bitch."

Not long after leaving home a group of girls spotted the delinquent. Various cries of "Hey look, it's Jojo!" and "Really? Jojo" fell on deaf ears as Jotaro ignored them and kept on walking. Soon the girls had crowded around him but he didn't seem to take notice, seemingly deep in thought. The teen reached for his star-shaped birthmark, recalling the events from the day before.

After having gotten into a fight with five punks and this purple figure, that suddenly appeared out of nowhere, had beaten them into a bloody pulp, breaking most of their bones and likely busted their balls, he had decided to stay locked up in the prison cell, he currently was sitting in. He was sure that this purple figure was a evil spirit that possessed him. When his mother tried to persuade him to come out he had shown her what this evil spirit was capable of by taking the officer's gun, pointing with the barrel at his own head and shooting bullet out of close proximity. A purple hand caught it and let it fall to the ground before the officer's feet. The two men seemed not able to see it as they had freaked out when it had brought him among other things a beer, manga, dumbbells and a radio.

His mother resorted to calling his Grandfather Joseph Joestar for help. The old man showed up with a friend, whom he introduced as Avdol. After a short argument Joseph instructed his Egyptian friend to force his grandson out of the cell even if it meant sending him to the hospital. Avdol called forth his Magician's Red and introduced him to Jotaro. He started the fight, forming ties out of fire and wrapping them around the wrists and ankles of the stubborn teen, pinning him to the wall before pulling him off again. His own 'evil spirit' came out then, defending the delinquent. Avdol then decided he had to pick up his game and used the flaming ties to harshly pull the boy against the prison bars. The Egyptian wrapped one of the ties around Jotaro's mouth, restricting his breathing and weakening his Stand. His grandfather then explained that his, as he called it, 'evil spirit' was a so called Stand. He then proceeded to explain what exactly Stands are. Jotaro then put out Magician's Red's flames by breaking the cell's toilet. His Stand then bent and broke the bars and the stoic teen stepped outside, wanting to attack Avdol. However, the man had turned his back on him and walked away, sitting down against the wall. "As you see, Mr. Joestar, he has left his cell."

Shortly after he had found himself sitting in a cafe, his mother clinging to him, happy to have him out of that cell. His grandfather started to tell him about Dio. And that it was the Joestar family's fate to fight this man, well vampire. He had doubted that story at first and the old man had shown him his Stand "Hermit Purple" and its spirit photography, busting a 30,000 Yen camera in the process. Joseph started to talk about the star-shaped birthmark everyone from the Joestar-bloodline had on the back of their neck. It was then that Jotaro ran out of patience "Just show me that damn photo!" The photo revealed a tall, very muscular man with blond hair and a bare back, the background pitch black. The star-shaped birthmark clearly visible. "From the neck down, this body belongs to my grandfather. This bastard took over his body with his vampiric powers!" Joseph shouted and then kept telling him about how Dio was hiding somewhere on earth and that the vampire was the reason his spirit photography and the teen's stand manifested. "Your Stands seem to be bound to Jonathan's body as if some invisible string connects you to him. His rebirth awakened your sleeping powers." Avdol added.

Jotaro snapped out of his thoughts when one of the girls surrounding him grabbed his arm, pushing her non-existent boobs against it. A poor attempt at seducing him. He looked down at her, expressionless and uninterested. The girl blushed before being pushed aside by another girl, the two starting to argue. He tried to ignore them for some time but snapped not long after "Shut up. You're freaking annoying!" The girls squealed, happy to get any form of attention "He totally said that to me!" Why could they just not leave him alone?
