Chapter 29, Part 2

You were currently leaning against the school gate, waiting for Luke. You had dropped off Mammon and Asmo at the House of Lamentation, when you'd met Satan, who was supposed to meet with Luke in the Palace's library, and asked you to pick up the little angel from school and take him to the palace. So, here you were waiting for the angel to exit the building. You checked your watch once more. Slowly but surely time was running out. It was almost 2 p.m. and your dad would show up at the castle at 3 p.m. Sure, there was a stationary gate at the castle but it couldn't be passed while the castle was being moved and moving the castle with too many people inside was actually quiet dangerous if you hadn't done it for years, it required a lot of practice (and magic) to safely move the castle from one spot to another with a lot of people inside. That's why your dad wanted you to move the castle to Cairo beforehand. With your friends you were already quiet a few people to be transported with the castle. You had seen your dad move the castle plenty of times, but you yourself would be doing it for the first time. You had received explicit instructions but still...You would have to remotely set up a marker in the place where you wanted to locate the castle. And that was the easy part....

"Kate!"

Luke's voice ripped you out of your thoughts. You stepped away from the wall you were leaning against and took the boy's schoolbag. "Where's Satan?", wondered the angel. In human years he'd be about ten years old. "He's running a bit late. That's why I'm here. I'll be taking you to the palace. Satan will join you as soon as he can." you explained. The angel, happy to see you, followed you to the car only to stop midway. You turned around, "What is it?" "I forgot my project! We started it during our lessons today. I need to finish it." explained Luke. "Then go get it. But, please, hurry. I'm operating on a very tight schedule, today." you replied and continued on to the car to put away Luke's bag.

Once you finished putting away the bag you assured your friends that it wouldn't take much longer and apologised for all the interruptions. "It's fine." assured the old man, "It just shows that you haven't been here for quiet some time and you're indeed needed." Before you could thank him for his understanding you heard a pair of demons sneer at a certain little angel angering you to no end. Not only were you pressed for time, no, they were going after your little angel. Slowly you made your way over to the two demons and Luke. "Well, what a cute little project you've got there...." sneered one. The other cackled sinisterly. "Be careful. We wouldn't want to imagine what would happen if that fell down...." He made a move pretending to slap it out of Luke's hands who tried his best to ignore them which proved difficult as the two blatantly blocked his path. Luke's eyes shot to you shortly before returning to the two demons. The two picked up on it and turned to look at you. "Oh my, a cute girlie...." started the first. "Picking on a little angel. Two against one, too. Well, if that's not cowardly...."you growled barely staying in control of your fists and crossing. "Oh? What's a girl like you going to do about it? Piss off and mind don't put your nose where it doesn't belong, little human." growled the first demon while the second seemed to recognise you...and the danger. "Oi..." he whispered, "I think we're in over our heads here. Let's just leave." "No, what's a human gonna do about it?" refused the first. "She's not just any human, man." retorted the other. You smirked, "You should listen to him."

"Forget it human, I ain't gonna do shit. You don't tell me what to do."

"Oh, but you should."

"I'm gettin' outta here!" declared the second demon and took off. "He's a clever one...saved his bones." you deadpanned. The first demon yelled after his "friend". "Man, you're a coward! Running from some human girl! I'll show you that she's just spouting nonsense! I'll be destroying this project and there's nothing she'll be able to do to prevent it!" The demon whirled around peeved to no end and glared at you, then stomped over to Luke.
