Chapter 7

He had tried punching Dark Blue Moon with Star Platinum, fist and arm still covered in barnacles, but underwater he was just too slow. Captain Tennille explained that his Stand could not be defeated underwater and just kept on bragging about it, while Jotaro wondered what it was that Kate would have to deal with. He was quickly reminded that he had not the time to think about others.

"Since we can talk underwater through our Stands, how about you pop out another one of those cocky one-liners before you die?" taunted the captain. "What's the matter? Catfish got your tongue, brother?" Steeling his nerves the teen calmly retorted, "So, what'll it be? What kinda fish do you want to be, after I'm done with you? Fish paste? Or maybe some sashimi? I'll make one hell of a meal outa your Stand."

"Don't, play games with me. You're tryin' to sound tough, but I know the truth, boy. The real terror of all this is startin' to sink into your thick skull. I can tell whatcha thinkin'; How long can this guy stay underwater? I can probably last two minutes, tops. Can he last longer? Am I right, brother?" Tennille got slowly into position to fight, bringing their little 'small talk' to a close. "Well guess what? My lung capacity is three times that of a normal human. I've been trainin' for years. My best is six minutes, twelve seconds! You must be dizzy just hearin' that number, right brother? AND! Dark Blue Moon's fins are cutters that are faster than a ship's propeller, far sharper too! But before you start mouthing off again, you might wanna take a good, hard look at your Stand. Seems Dark Blue Moon's barnacles have taken a liking to absorbing your Stand's power." Tennille revealed, he had been buying time. Jotaro had felt like the captain was talking too much.

"How does it feel to have your life energy drained away from your body?" Tennille chuckled. The delinquent tried swimming to the surface. "Trying to escape to the surface? Take a good look around you!" after laughing again Tennille continued, "Haven't you realised that Dark Blue Moon created a whirlpool? There's no way you can possibly escape! Swim! Come on, swim! You'll just make it harder to breathe while your power keeps draining. But it's a lil' to early to kill a little smart-ass punk like you just yet!" The scales swirling in the whirlpool cut open the teens chin while the captain was comfortably in the centre. "I'll take another guess at what you're thinking right now! 'In a whirlpool one point stays still.' I can read you like a book! 'It's the eye! If I jump into the centre where he is I can attack him!' That's what your thinkin' right, brother? If you believe you can hit me with that punch of yours again, then come and give it a shot. Come at me with your worthless Stand, its power's so drained it doesn't have a chance! See if you can manage an attack, one that's even sharper than these underwater cutters! I'm waiting, brother!" Jotaro had gone limp, not struggling against the current of the whirlpool, almost fully engulfed in barnacles. "Weren't you going to turn me into sashimi? You're the one who's gonna be sliced up!" That's when Star Platinum started moving again, collecting all his power in his right index and middle fingers. The stretched and broke through the wall of barnacles around them, shooting forward and piercing through his opponent's Stand's skull.

"Sorry, but it looks like you're sashimi after all." said the raven-haired. Captain Tennille tried to answer but only air bubbles left his mouth. "What's that? I can't hear you. You're gonna have to speak up! We're underwater!" "But your power was being drained..." the Captain croaked out, "You let yourself go limp on purpose didn't you? You concentrated your power in your fingers. That's what you were thinking all along..."

The delinquent pulled down his hat, "Not even close. The only thing on my mind was, how gross it will be when I kick your stupid ass, and you piss yourself underwater and that's all. Bye, pops." Tennille sank into the depths of the sea, quickly disappearing in the darkness.

Jotaro finale broke to the surface and filled his lungs with air.

"That's my grandson, for ya!" cheered the old man proudly. The teen started swimming towards the ship and his friends. "Well done, Jotaro. Now get up here already." praised Mr. Joestar and was just about to throw the lifebelt when there was a loud boom and the ship shook violently! Another boom rang throughout the air and only a second after an explosion went off. For a moment everyone stood still. "The Captain planted bombs on the ship! Damn it! Hurry and get to the life boats and send out a distress call!" ordered his grandfather. Everybody ran toward the lifeboats or just jumped straight into the water. Jotaro was sure to see Kate turn back and pick up Anne only to jump into the water right after. The moment they hit the water another explosion completely destroyed the ship.
