They had geared up. Only the old man was still struggling with his gear as he only had one hand at the moment. The submarine shook. "Is anyone else here getting nervous?" Polnareff asked. Jotaro looked to Kate. He didn't know what exactly she had been thinking about before but she had definitely looked nervous. Luckily she seemed to have calmed down by now. "Try to stay calm." advised the old man, "Times like these require us to keep our heads on straight and be prepared. Putting this stuff on with only one hand is a lot harder than I thought it'd be. Alright. Before we leave, has anyone ever scuba dived before?" the old man inquired. The youngsters all denied one after the other. "You have to teach us how to use this equipment right now!" insisted Avdol, "That thing is going to attack us any second!" "Try and calm yourself, Avdol. You must never panic, no matter what. That is the most important rule when scuba diving." explained the silver fox, "When you're travelling underwater, for every ten metres you go below the surface, the corresponding pressure increases along with you. The surface pressure starts at one atmosphere. And since we're 40 metres below the surface, we'll endure five atmospheres of pressure. If we surface too quickly the pressure will cause our lungs and blood vessels to burst. We have to rise slowly so our bodies can adjust. Since we're nearing the Egyptian coast, it's best to ascend along the sea floor." The old man turned around and grabbed the wheel to open the pipe, "Ok, I'm letting the water in." The water quickly rose, it didn't take long until the water passed the men's knees. The old man lifted the part of the diving gear one puts in his mouth. "Now pay very close attention. What you're looking at is a regulator. The valve inside only allows air in from the tank when you inhale. The air you breathe out exits through the piece on the left." explained the old man. Kakyoin put it in his mouth, while Polnareff asked what happened with the spit. "What happens if I need to drool or hock a loogie or something?" "Stuff like that comes out of the opening here." the old man answered then added, "By the way, this should go without saying, but we can't talk underwater. Instead we'll use hand signals. Let's keep thing simple and only use two. When things are going smoothly we'll use this to say 'OK'." He used his thumb and index finger to form a circle, then continued, "But when they aren't, use this." He then waved his hand, thumb and little finger stretched to the side while the others stiffly pointed downward. "Mr. Joestar, couldn't we just use our Stands to communicate underwater?" queried Avdol. "Oh yeah, I didn't think about that." admitted the old man. "Aww, man! And I was just about to say that I know a really good hand signal." Polnareff was disappointed, he then did some weird hand signals. "He says, 'Your underwear is showing.'" translated Kakyoin. "Yeah, nice!" Polnareff cheered and the both did some handshake. "We could be attacked and killed at any time! Stop fooling around and let's go!" chastised the old man and put on the diving goggles as the water rose to his chest, which meant the water had reached Kate's collarbone and the woman was starting to swim in order to keep her head above water. "Yes, please." she stated grimly, for once not amused by the boys' antics. "This room is about to be filled to the brim with water." started the old man but was interrupted by a sarcastic sentence from Kate, "Oh, really? I didn't notice." After sending her a warning look the old man continued, "Put on your masks and regulators. It's about time." They did as told and only moments later they were all completely underwater. The old man opened the hatch. He signalled a 'Ok' and the group responded in turn, all except Polnareff who was struggling and flailing around underwater. His regulator transformed into the enemy Stand, which bit him in the lip. "When did it?!" wondered Avdol speaking through his Stand as Polnareff's lip started bleeding and the French lost his goggles. "That's it!" detected Kakyoin, "The Stand had already integrated with the regulator!" "That bastard..." growled Jotaro as the High Priestess forced its way into Polnareff's mouth, "It's gonna rip him apart from the inside! We've gotta drain the room while we still can!" "We can't!" Kate growled. "It must have been lying in wait for just this moment!" stated Avdol. "Unfortunately fire is entirely useless underwater and I haven't mastered water magic, yet. It's too risky!" Kate muttered, feverishly looking for a way to help their friend. Star Platinum reached out to grab the Stand but grabbed nothing but water. "Damnit!" Jotaro growled. "It's already burrowing down his throat." stated Avdol, " We can't just stand here watching him like this! What should we do?" Avdol asked. Kate lifted her index finger, her claws out, "I could try and cut it out,....though I'm no surgeon." she said, hesitation clear in her voice. The old man and Kakyoin both summoned their Stands, sending them through Polnareff's nose down his throat and after the enemy Stand. "I was able to grab it before it could damage his organs." declared the silver fox. "Me, too. Let's pull it out before it transforms." added Kakyoin. They did and the High Priestess was now floating in front of them, tied up by Hierophant Green and Hermit Purple. "Alright! Keep it just like that!" ordered Jotaro and summoned Star Platinum. but before the purple Stand could do anything the High Priestess transformed again. "Look, it's transforming into something else!" commented Avdol. "You gotta be kidding me! It turned into a spear gun!" Kakyoin immediately sent a Emerald Splash towards the enemy and Silver Chariot duelled with the spear that was shot over and over again, blocking it from going through to their group.
