GABRIELLA’S POV:

Can’t I just leave?!

I’m so sick of the treatment!

André’s mom really made it clear to me that she REALLY doesn’t like me one BIT. As for his dad, he has always been so distant and stoic with me. Even his sisters don’t like me. It really broke my heart the way Amelia just greeted me abruptly. I remember how excited she’d be anytime I came over to visit Dré back then, but now it was most definitely the opposite.

The only people that showed kindness to me were his grandparents —Mr. Alakai Lombardi and Mrs. Ayesha Lombardi. They were so warming to me just like the last time I saw them.

Since we came late and all, the party ended almost the same time we came. And after that, there was a mini dinner that was happening at André’s grandparents’ home in Hidden Hills.... actually a grand dinner reserved for Andrea, the entire Lombardi family, the Lombardi family friends — most of which I could recall them because ninety percent of them are my family friends also, plus they are basically the families of André’s ‘brothers’, her close friends that have been glaring at me anytime André kisses or even snakes his arms around my waist.

So basically everyone had to drive there. They could have just done the party there too. You know, to save gas.

André introduced me to his entire family. His Aunts and Uncles — both from his mother and father’s side. Most were nice to me except for one of his Uncle’s wife — Mrs. Linda Lombardi, who turned out to be the mother of Lyon —André’e cousin I ran into over six years ago. André left me alone with them when one of his aunts called him away.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Lombardi.” I smiled and his Uncle returned me one.

“The pleasure is all mine Miss Dalmonte.” He said but was interrupted by his wife.

“I wish I could say the same.” She scoffed.

“Linda where are you manners?” Her husband said to her. “Please excuse my wife, she’s a bit cranky.” He explained and her eyes widened so furiously at him.

“It’s okay Mr. Lombardi. I’m not offended.” I faked a smile.

“Please, call me Avan.”

“And you can call—”

“He’s not calling you anything. I have no idea what has gotten into my darling nephew’s head that he’s so blinded about your heartlessness.” Her face was filled with distaste for me.

“Linda!” He scolded her but she seemed not to care.

“Excuse me.” I said and left. I have never felt so sad in my life the way that I felt at that point.

Maybe she’s even right. I mean just look at what I’m doing. I am a heartless person.

As I walked around trying to find Tequila or André or even D-I, I wasn’t focusing while walking which made me bump into someone.

“I’m so sorry.” I apologized to the young woman and was about to leave when she held me back.

“Gabriella?” She looked at me with surprise. “Don’t you remember me? I’m Zaila, we met a week ago at my cousin’s house.”
