GABRIELLA’S POV:

“HOW THE HELL DID THE DAMN DRUG GO TO SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS?!” I cussed so irately at Señor Esteban and his men.

“Pero Señoritá Dalmonte, el dinero no es problema para una mujer de su callabar.”

{SPANISH TO ENGLISH TRANSLATION: “But Miss Dalmonte, money isn’t a problem for a woman of your callabar.”}

“¡Oh, por favor, cállate imbécil loco!”

{“Oh please shut up you nut headed imbecile!”}

“Déjame explicarme. Ves la segunda rebota que se vendió la semana pasada en un sitio de subastas subterráneas ubicado en la ciudad capital de Panamá, fue comprado por un Señor de drogas muy influenciales y adinerados cuando alguien más intentó tomarlo a los cinco puntos Umm cinco millones, lo agarró a las siete millones de dólares y los dólares. Lo siento señora.”

{“Let me explain. You see the second rebotar which was sold last week at an underground auction site located in the capital city of Panama was bought by a very influencial and wealthy drug lord when someone else tried to take it at five point umm five million, he grabbed it at seven millions U.S dollars and since then, the price has been up ever since. Sorry madam.”}

“Whatever, just give it to me. I don’t have seven million dollars in those briefcases, lo que tengo es simple cinco {what I have is plain five}. So just give me your boss’ account number and I’ll make a transaction.”

“Lo siento, señorita Dalmonte, pero sabes que no hacemos transacciones. ¡Queremos vivir y directamente!”

{“Sorry Miss Dalmonte but you know we don’t do transactions. We want it live and direct!”}

“Entonces, ¿qué demonios quieres que haga?! ¡Debería rediseñar dos millones de dólares de un cajero automático o qué?”

{“So what the hell do you want me to do?! I should redraw two million dollars from an ATM machine or what?”}

“Bueno, puedes venir a pagar la tarifa completa más tarde, mi jefe confía en que se doblará para ti.”

{“Well you can come pay the complete fee later, my boss trusts you so he’ll bend for you.”}

I wasn’t okay with that plan. I’m my father’s daughter, I hate owing someone even for a damn second, but I was stuck now. I hissed in annoyance knowing there was no way out of this. I could come back and buy it later but my body desperately needed inhalations of it. Before I even started taking the rebotar, I was already an addict from when I was with my dormmate back in Cambridge.

“As soon as I can package the money, Rokkett will—”

“But barón—”

“Rokkett will come here by himself and deliver the bloody money.” I spoke with authority. “I don’t give a damn about your boss or is it barón, whatever.”

“Why do you want to know André’s address?”

“Jasemeil Mario Fernando Raur Dalmonte, can you please just answer my question?” I huffed on my brother on the phone with so much impatience.
