Why the hell is there a joint family breakfast set up here?! And why do I have to be here? Sometimes my grandpa knows how to make me REALLY uncomfortable.
“Good morning.” I murmured at everyone in the dinning room and quickly sat down at the first empty seat next to my dad.
The table setting arrangement was from my grandfather and at his left hand side was my Uncle Avan, his very annoying wife — Linda, my alcoholic cousin — Laura, and...Tequila. Alongside my Grandma Ayesha facing directly opposite her husband from the far end of the table.
At his right was Uncle Nathan, my dad, and me. But one seat was left empty, not occupied...yet.
“Dad I respect you but, I don’t understand why we need to have this breakfast meeting.” Aunt Linda shrugged. “What done is done and THEY need to realize and respect that.” Aunt Linda indirectly talked to Uncle Nathan and it seems it took him everything not to jump at her.
“Shut up your mou—” My dad snapped at her but her husband quickly fired back at him.
“Don’t talk to my wife like that.” Uncle Avan spoke with annoyance.
“Then teach your wife how to speak and make her know the difference between good and bad.” Dad spat.
“Andrew!” Grandma scolded my dad. “That is no way to talk to your sister—”
“...IN-LAW. Sister-in-law.” Dad added with anger in his eyes directed at Linda who equally gave him back a hard glare.
“Don’t bother yourself mom, I know that Andrew has never liked me or even saw me as a member of this family.”
“Glad you know, I honestly do not like you.” He deadpanned. “And your husband is well aware that I preferred your sister instead of you.” He smiled sarcastically at her fury filled face.
“Can the both of you stop your petty argument so we can go to why exactly we’re all gathered here?!” Uncle Nathan huffed and dropped his fork on the table.
“Exactly but, your daughter is not here yet.” Grandpa pointed out.
“I am here.” A feminine voice spoke, accompanied by the continuous sound of heels knocking the cold tiled floor.
All heads turned at where she stood, even mine. She stood tall with intimidation, beauty and elegance in that attractive royal blue gown she had on plus her incredibly long pump heels.
“I apologize for my tardiness Mr. Lombardi.” She said nicely to my Grandfather who gave her a big smile. He was one of the people or only person in my family who still liked Gabriella. My father was only doing this just for the sake of his friendship with her father
“Have a seat my dear.” Grandma Ayesha kindly told her.
She strolled over to the ONLY EMPTY SEAT at the dining table WHICH WAS DIRECTLY NEXT TO ME.
GREAT.
