ANDRÉ'S POV:

"Where the fuck are you Valerik?!" I raked my hair in frustration while on the phone with my wife's stupid OB/GYN. "My wife is lying unconscious on my lap after we realized she was bleeding. HOW FAST CAN YOU GET TO NEW YORK?"

"First of all, it's not possible for me to get to New York on time, California is miles and miles away. Unless you want your wife dead by the time I reach, then keep on being stubborn."

"Shut the fuck up! Don't ever dare put 'dead' and 'her' in the same sentence, Dmitriyevich." I warned.

"Lombardi, listen to me for goodness sake! Let us pray that it is a bloody show and not because of her placental abruption. How exactly was the blood? Thick? Did it have mucus in it? Or just fucking blood?"

"I don't know! I already cleaned it off! We're on our way to the nearest hospital."

"If it is bloody show, that means there is a big chance she has gotten into labor. I don't want to scare you, just....You're at Central Park right? That's where the Metropolitan Museum of Art is. I'd recommend you going to Lenox Hill Hospital that's close by. My friend lives nearby, it's at East 77th Street."

"Leonardo head straight to Lenox Hill Hospital at East 77th Street." I ordered.

I kept on trying to revive my wife back to consciousness but nothing I did worked. I was gradually losing my mind. She refused to wake up even when we reached the Hospital and they put her on the stretcher.

The blood flow didn't even pause for a second. The doctors said she was hemorrhaging.

I was about following my unconscious wife into the room with all the doctors and nurses. But one particular nurse stopped me from entering. "You are not keeping me away from my wife."

"Apologies Mr. Lombardi, you have to stay here for us to check what's wrong." He paused. "We'll be back to you shortly."

"I am not staying outside. I need to be there with my wife. I can't leave her alone." My declaration was mixed with begging.

They didn't let me enter at the end. FUCK! I was mad with rage. Throughout the entire time waiting for their reply, I was on call with Valerik. This was honestly unexpected because we have been monitoring her placental issue. It seemed fine and somewhat manageable. We already fixed a date for the delivery in order to avoid any fatal issues. Considering how mild it was, we avoided a premature birth but now it seems we have to act fast according to what Valerik said.
