"My name is Kali for those who don't know, I expect you all know why I'm standing here and not another Alpha?" I question the large crowd. I receive silent nods from all directions.
Young faces and older, yet all in desperate need of training. I don't worry about my voice not travelling, they're wolves, they'll hear me.
"Your training will begin with self-defence, not only will you learn how to successfully protect yourself from attacks but your body will need this time to get into shape for the hard stuff." I state, gesturing to the huge field, and the layout I've designed.
I had to get help considering I only had a few hours before their arrivals, which meant getting up at dawn.
"Groups of ten." I say to them as I walk towards the course laid out.
I could hear them murmuring loudly amongst themselves about the groups, picking and choosing between one another.
"Ok, before we begin the course I'm going to show you a couple of self-defence moves." I tell them, turning to face them again.
Gesturing one of the men towards me, I stand him so he's facing me, ensuring everyone can see.
"He punches me, first thing I'm going to do is side step and bring my hand hand up like this." I instruct, showing them what I mean as I talk.
"He's going to have a messed up eye. Same thing for the other side, use the opposite hand." I say.
The wolf punches me again, I swiftly slide to the right and bring my right arm up, extending my hand so it's flat and stopping a centimetre before his eyeball.
"Second one, he's going to hook me. I block, boom to the body." I explain, giving a presentation of both left and right.
"Third, and I probably shouldn't teach this one because it's helped me in the past." I state with a slight smirk.
"Kick to the nuts." I say, and some of the men chuckle. "The attacker kicks, you block with your hand and when their foot touches the ground, you want to kick the back of the knee."
"Then you can smack him, elbow him, knee him in the balls...it's completely your choice." I explain, going through all the steps in slow motion without any impact on the man.
"Alright, start working this course. You'll be doing twenty minutes on each obstacle before switching, two minutes per person, I'll be keeping the time. Any questions?" I ask clearly, pulling out my phone as I prepare to time them.
"Aren't you joining us?" A voice echoes.
I admit, the question does take me a little by surprise. No one offers me to train with them, Jackson and Winter once did but I suppose they're advanced and no longer need my help. In a way I've lost the excitement of training, with Kade and Maddox it was different, I had no choice but to fight. It's just not something I enjoy doing anymore.
"I'm good." I state.
They fan out in their groups, heading to the ten different layouts on the field. Some work on balance, some upper body strength, some endurance, lower body strength, and easy ones like climbing across a wall without falling into the mud pit beneath.
It's safe to say that most of them end up covered in mud.

After sending everyone inside many hours later, half of them dragging their feet, I begin cleaning off all the equipment ready for tomorrow. By the time I get inside to actually eat, it's past dark and I'm too tired to bother.
