"So things are good between you two?" Jackson worries like the mother hen he's come to be.
"Yes, we're good. I hope you're taking it easy on Apollo-"
"Me take is easy on him? The thing BIT me!" He complains, utterly appalled that I'm defending my horse.
"Did you let your wolf surface?" I ask knowingly, because I know my horse, and Apollo doesn't just bite.
"...well, not intentionally. It still bit me."
Rolling my eyes, I chuckle quietly. "Cry baby."
"Left a scar and everything." Jackson grumbles childishly.
"I'll be home in a couple of days, just go easy with him and he'll be fine." I assure my over dramatic best friend.
"I've got to tell you, punching a horse has never been so tempting." Jackson snorts with laughter.
I just roll my eyes. "Bye Jackson."
"Kidding! Bye, love you." He quickly says.
"Love you." I sigh, ending the call and placing the final item in the small bag.
Hardin slings the bag over his shoulder the second it's packed, as eager to get me out of here as I am to leave.
"Need a hand?" Hardin offers, already helping me pull my jacket on, my movements a little restricted as to not open up any wounds.
"Thanks." I sigh quietly, uncaring for how crappy I look right now.
Last nights pjs, fluffy socks, greasy hair in a huge knotted bun, with my grey wool pea coat over the top. Very sexy. How attractive I must look.
"When did they say I can wash my hair?" I ask, hoping to god that it's sometime soon.
I've been unable to shower for almost a week now, it was only yesterday that I finally had the strength to get out of the hospital bed. It's safe to say that I am in desperate need of a bleach bath. The nurses have been bringing me warm soapy water and a sponge but it's not the same.
"You could've washed it days ago, I thought they mentioned it to you?" Hardin responds with a slight frown, knowing how much I hate not showering.
I scowl deeply. "They didn't."
"I'll do it." Hardin offers with a shrug.
"You have a meeting concerning the war, that's more important than my hair." I say with a slight frown. I know him, and I know that in his eyes taking care of me comes before anything else.
"The meeting isn't going anywhere, I'll deal with it after." Hardin retorts in that unwavering tone that is both annoying as hell, and a little sexy.
With a roll of my eyes, I exit the pack infirmary with Hardin. The second we step out into actual daylight, I couldn't help but flinch away from the burning glare of the sun.
"Have you decided what to do about Kade's offer?" He asks me as we walk in peace, the distance short between the pack mansion and the infirmary.
"I have." I retort, turning my head towards him and flashing a slight smile.
Hardin arches a dark perfect eyebrow. "Are you going?" He questions, acting as though he isn't fazed if I go on a six week vacation with my father, Lisa and Cami.
"No. Why, do you want me to?" I grin, already knowing the answer.
Hardin flashes a sheepish smile. "No."
Hearing a familiar laugh, I turn my head towards the sound instinctively. The sight before me is literally shocking, my feet come to an abrupt halt as I gape at the she-wolf and stranger.
