The next morning I stand in the kitchen in one of his shirts, making pancakes as I wiggle my ass to the quiet music.
Sucking the batter off my thumb, I turn to the kitchen island to put the pancake on the plate. A figure in the doorway makes me jump slightly.
"Morning." I say, my cheeks hearing slightly as I smile.
Hardin's eyes roam my bare thighs, a suggestive smirk on his gorgeous face. "Good morning." His voice is husky, although from sleep or sexual desire, I'm not certain.
"About last night-"
"It's fine, Katalayha." He assures me, crossing the kitchen and kissing my temple.
I just sigh and shrug it off, figuring if he says it's fine then it is. Truth be told, we didn't have sex. BUT, after three orgasms I physically couldn't keep going, maybe I'm just out of practice, maybe it's because the last time he touched me was when I had my wolf. And as everyone knows, we have outstanding stamina, we mate like rabbits as they say.
As we sit at the island to eat breakfast, I decide to mention my plans for this week.
"I'm planning to start training the wolves this week, if you still want me to?" I ask him, placing a forkful of pancake and cream in my mouth.
"This week?" He repeats, glancing at me with secretive eyes, almost like a deer caught in headlights.
What's up with him?
"Yes, is that a problem?" I frown, wondering why the sudden strange looks.
"I might have had something planned for you." He admits with a slight frown, annoyed that it's no longer a secret.
"For me? What is it?" I immediately ask, being nosy, and impatient.
Hardin chuckles and carries on eating, leaving my skin to itch with curiosity. I wonder what it is? What kind of surprise? A puppy? A pony? A date night?
The possibilities are endless with him, and that only annoys me more.
"I'm busy all weekend, and I'll be here on Monday at around five, so get an early night." Hardin has this sly look on his face as he kisses me.
I just stare at him with narrowed eyes, hating and loving that this is a surprise.
"I will, drive safe." I sigh, waving him off as he heads out.
I hate the fact that he only stays here the odd night, but I also know that it's necessary. He has a lot of work to do with the pack, and as someone that once took on all those duties, I know how hard it is. Which is why I don't put the extra pressure of my loneliness on him, hence why I keep myself busy.
It works for us, even if it's just for now.
"Lucifer, come!" I call as I head through the house, having no clue as to where he's got to.
Until my foot hits a puddle of cold liquid, and I say liquid because I definitely didn't spill anything on my floor.
"Motherfucker." I breathe, closing my eyes to resist the instant anger. Why did I think he was housetrained?
Ok, stay calm. Clean it and call Matt, it'll be fine. I mentally tell myself, heading to the kitchen and grabbing all of my cleaning products. He just had to do it on the carpet.
Lucifer comes from upstairs, approaching me with his tail wagging, head tilted slightly as he watches me. I raise my head to give him a piece of my mind, but the second I look at his calm, relaxed, friendly posture, I couldn't do it.
