The second day of training doesn't go as smooth as I'd hoped, not at first anyway. Lucifer snapped for me every time I raised my hand to put him in the sitting position, which meant I had to say no and walk away. It took me almost forty attempts before I finally managed to get him to back up just enough so that he sits, and then he took the biscuit.

Matt wasn't joking when he said it would be hard. I know one day seems fast, but just because Lucifer does it one time doesn't make it any easier the rest of the time. No, I walk away and come back at least a hundred times within the first few hours of working with him.

It's exhausting, repeating the same thing over and over. Yet the odd time he gets it and sits, I get a sense that it's all worth it.

"Good." I praise softly, handing him the biscuit. Again, I don't over extend my hand, knowing he doesn't like it.

The sound of a car arriving makes me turn my head, my anger instantly making my cheeks flush as I realise it's Hardin. He immediately stops the car and jumps out, not looking pleased at all.

"Where's your phone?" He asks me, eyes ablaze with his wolf.

"Why?" I retort.

"I have been trying to call you for hours-"

"I've been busy." I shrug, turning back to Lucifer.

"You've been b- I thought something bad had happened! That Roman- Jesus Christ!" Hardin growls in anger, frustration, irritation.

He scoffs at my silence.

"Do you have any idea? Do you even care?" He questions me, his tone in disbelief that I'm acting so cold, so distant to his panicked rush to get here.

The fact that he's asking me if I even care, proves how little he trusts anything I say.

"You lied to me." I tell him bitterly, deciding to tend to Lucifer when I'm calm. I head inside the house instead, not wanting the dog to react to our arguing.

"That's the first I've heard of it." He retorts.

"I recognise her voice, Hardin. Why didn't you just tell me you're seeing someone else? I would have understood." I scoff, using anger as a front to cover up how much those words hurt.

Hardin just looks at me gone out, utterly lost.

"You think I'd stick around if I had a single doubt about us?" He growls at me, giving me one straight answer that instantly shuts me up.

For about three seconds.

"I heard her." I glare.

"You heard Lorelei, her FATHER is a Beta, he was in the meeting and she joined." Hardin over pronounced his words like I'm some retard that just got out of the psych ward.

"Tell her I said hi." I mimic her voice, glowering. "I can't stand that fake bitch."

Hardin just rolls his eyes. "You don't need to be jealous, Kal, I don't want her."

I scoff loudly. "Right." Why wouldn't he want Lorelei? She's every mans dream.

"Your phones broken isn't it." Hardin knowingly questions me.

"No." I lie, crossing my arms and I look away from him.

"Maybe." I grumble.

"Do you know how many speeding tickets I'm about to have?" He questions me, his tone calm.

Over my little temper tantrum, I just shrug, deciding to keep the attitude for a little while to save some dignity.

"If I was away and some guy was in the background, and I was meant to be alone, you would flip your shit and you know it. So don't stand there with your judgey eyes at me, that slapper should keep her mouth shut." I snap, storming off upstairs to my room.
