~ Hardin's POV ~
"How many?" Zed growls at the guard running patrol on the eastern border.
He seems a tad out of it. "I-I don't know, it happened fast."
"You said they didn't cross the border?" I question, already passing the boundary line without waiting for a response.
"Yes Alpha, they came fast, hovered about half a mile out and left within a few seconds." The guard answers.
Giving a nod, I head further past the borders of my land on foot. Ignoring the gut feeling in my stomach as I hurry my steps. Something is definitely wrong, rogues don't come in groups to simply hover outside the border.
The scent is familiar, faint, but familiar. My pack wouldn't cross pack land without permission. Who is it?
I furrow my eyebrows as I search the trees, walking as I follow the sound of a heartbeat. Yet nothing moves, not a branch, not even a leaf.
My skin crawls with something unfamiliar, a cold shudder passing through my entire body. As if someone had stepped over a grave.
And then I hear it.
A childs cry.
Rushing towards the familiar sound, I locate him with ease and scoop him up off the floor. His grey knitted blanket covered in leaves but otherwise untouched.
"Where is Winter!?" I call out to my men, cradling the pup to my chest as I rush back to my pack.
"She's on pack land." Zed frowns, his eyes widening when he spots the baby in my arms.
Before I can utter a word, heavy paws come flying towards me. Growling and practically foaming at the mouth, Lucifer snaps his jaws and spins in a circle.
"What's wrong?" Beck questions in utter confusion.
Kali.
"Kali." I breathe, almost dropping Dante as the realisation sets in.
"What do you mean?" Zed asks.
"GO!" I near launch the pup at Zed as I shift into my wolf, sprinting towards the direction Lucifer leads me.

~ Elder Lukas POV ~
"I CANT STOP THE BLEEDING!"
Chaos is met with chaos, the entire pack and all visiting packs rushing to the scene of the crime to see what's happened.
"MOVE!" I roar, commanding the disrespectful wolves to move aside.
I rush up the steps in the direction all the screaming is coming from, passing multiple Alphss that stand in the doorway not knowing what to do.
Jackson kneels over her body, using his hands to keep pressure on her chest as blood pumps from her like a fountain.
"TELL ME WHAT TO DO! I can't..I can't stop it! IT WONT STOP!" He sobs like a baby, staring down at the woman that he's known his entire life.
Luther rushes to ease him off her, while I fling my cloak aside.
"She's lost too much blood." I mutter, kneeling beside her and tearing open her t-shirt.
Kali is sickly white, blood seeping from her mouth, and tears from her green dull eyes. The way she looks up at me in this moment, I fear I may never forget it.
"Ha...Hard..." She couldn't finish her words, not stop the tears spilling from her frightened gaze.
I wanted to tell her she's going to be okay, she's going to pull through this. That we've got her, like before, like always.
