I wake to the burning brightness of sunshine scorching my eyelids, something that no one appreciates. Realising it's not going away no matter where I try and move, I give it up as a bad idea.

Releasing a small groan of discomfort, I wipe my eyes to clear away any before, before blinking them open.

"Are we there yet?" I ask, my voice sounding tired even to my ears as I glance at our surroundings.

"Almost, another two hours or so." Hardin murmurs, leaning over and kissing me softly.

I allow it for about two seconds, before pushing him away. "Eyes on the road." I muse.

Opening up the glove compartment, I grab the toiletries that I'd packed yesterday. And despite the fact that Hardin's driving, we brush our teeth and use a little mouthwash, spitting it all onto a couple napkins which I then place in a disposable bag. I also spray a little deodorant under my arms, a quick freshener even if I feel gross doing it without showering.

"Pull over, I'll take over for a while." I tell him, pointing to a nearby quick stop.

"You sure?" He asks, but I could hear some relief in his voice. He's been driving the entire night while I've slept.

"Yes, I need to pee anyway." I say, grabbing a few more napkins from the glove compartment.

Hardin pulls over as requested, and as I hide behind some bushes to empty my bursting bladder, Hardin switches sides. I wipe with the napkin and fold the used one inside a clean one, before heading back to the car and putting everything in the disposable bag.

I don't like throwing rubbish, ok? Not when I know some animal might die from eating it. I'd sooner wait for a bin.

With Lucifer sprawled out on the back seats, I decide not to bother him. Climbing into the drivers side and putting my seatbelt on, I'm forced to adjust the seat before setting off again.

"You were talking in your sleep." Hardin decides to tell me, head resting back as he simply watches me.

"I was?" I frown.

"Yeah."

"What was I saying?" I muse, glancing at him.

"Something about grey sweatpants and kryptonite." Hardin pretends to be confused, but I see the devilish laughter behind his growing smirk.

He knows exactly what I was dreaming about. I could feel my neck and cheeks burn with embarrassment. Dear lord, why must I humiliate myself?

"Shut up." I laugh sheerly because I can't believe he heard me sleep talking, and of all things I had to mentioned his goddamn grey sweatpants.

Although they are my kryptonite.

"Don't be shy love, everything you wear is my kryptonite." He attempts to assure me, but his gorgeous smirk only makes my cheeks burn more.

"Do I get to know where we're going yet?" I ask hopefully, simply following the road as Hardin hadn't told me to take any turns.

"You'll see soon enough." He promises, eyes twinkling with secrets.

"You're killing me." I sigh, turning the radio on to pass the time. Given that it's about six in the morning, there's zero good music on, so I use my phone instead.

I mean, who doesn't want to listen to Kelly Clarkson at six in the morning on a vacation?

"Mr. Know-It-All
Well ya, you think you know it all
But ya don't know a thing at all
Ain't it, ain't it something y'all
When somebody tells you something 'bout you
Think that they know you more than you do
So you take it down, another pill to swallow." I sing along to the lyrics, at first mumbling until the song gets me in my feels.
