"Are you excited to get this thing off? I know I would be." The doc grins, grabbing the spinning tool and taking a seat next to the bed.

"You have no idea." I sigh, wishing he would hurry up and get it off. I've been thinking about this day for weeks now, to say it's finally here is something I am very relieved by.

I honestly thought it wasn't going to come.

"X ray is good, everything has healed nicely. I wouldn't go running a marathon quite yet, just take it easy for the next few weeks." He tells me, cutting through the cast with the power tool, it kind of looks like a pizza cutter.

I felt nothing, a little vibration off the tool, until fresh air hits my smelly hairy leg and I instantly feel like jumping with joy. I could barely contain myself, having to sit on my hands so that I don't force him to hurry up.

He finally removed the pink cast, unwrapping the dirty cushioned material from my leg and finally setting me free.

I bend my knee instantly, the small action almost makes me want to cry with happiness.

"Come by in a week, we'll do a check up and make sure everything's fine." Doc tells me.

I smile and slide off the bed, testing out my leg, expecting it to hurt as I apply pressure to it. But it feels fine, healed like it was never broken.

"Ok, thank you." I gush.

A large tan hand steadies me gently, hovering to ensure I don't slip. I glance at the rough, calloused palms, clean and yet slightly discoloured as the skin is worn and thick from working. His forearms thick, biceps large yet lean with both strength and agility. His chest is broad, t-shirt fitted to his chiselled body, sculpting his muscular shoulders and firm pecks.

I found myself staring, strangely taken by the sight of him in a baby blue V neck tee. It's not often he's out of his suit, which I find extremely attractive, but this colour does wonders for his complexion.

"You're staring." He muses, not the least bit bothered by this.

Snapping out my blunt gawking, I pinch the t-shirt and pull it a little before letting go.

"You look good in this colour." I tell him, brushing past him and exiting the infirmary.

"How's the leg feel, good?" Hardin worries slightly, a step behind me should I falter.

"Like new." I confirm, ignoring the stares of his pack members.

This is the first time I've been back since I broke my leg almost seven weeks ago, and I'm only back to get the cast off. Now that I have, I'm not entirely certain what will happen next.

"I suppose you'll be needing to stay home for a while." I say to him as we walk.

"A few days, just to ensure everything's in order." Hardin says, his tone somewhat guilty.

"I'm going to head back soon, don't want to be driving in the dark." I sigh, acting like I'm not bothered that he's staying.

Truth be told, it'll be lonely without him. Even though we don't share the bed, or do anything except kiss, It'll be strange not having him around.

"You could stay, spend some time with Winter." Hardin retorts hopefully.

"I've been dying to take Apollo out for a ride to be honest...but I suppose I could ask Winter if she wants to come with me, and I could bring her back in a few days?" I offer, knowing it's Hardin decision.

Maybe I'm just making an excuse to come back sooner? Part of me wonders.

Winter will agree, she has this curiosity about Apollo that I noticed the day in the woods when she tried to help me calm him.
