He stalks through the crowd gathered, tall and upright. Alpha Hardin always had a calm aura around him, until now, now they felt the threat of his presence. The warning signs in the air, prickling at their flesh, goosebumps and sweat triggered by hostility that pours from the Alpha.

He'd always been a calm man, an understanding one. He began no wars, threatened no packs. He was a good man, an honest man.

Zed had known Hardin many years, most of their lives, and even he moves aside without a word. As his beta, he's seen the worst of Hardin's temper. Zed had also seen Kali's rage, from afar of course, he'd felt her aura the nights she would wonder home covered in blood.

Zed recognises that aura surrounding his Alpha, and he knows far better than to stick around and get in the way. Hardin is out for blood, anyone that dares to run will be slaughtered, torn apart without mercy.

"Stay where you are." Zed growls lowly in warning, gripping a group of women ready to run for the doors.

Their terrified eyes stare up at him, whimpers filling the room and the first crunch of bone echoes around the silence. The body of a middle aged man slumping to the floor.

Hardin did not care for the fear, the stench burnt his nostrils.

"You all know what I want...unless you give me it, I'm going to kill one of you every ten seconds." Hardin's ruthless growl thunders around the mansion, controlled and yet lethal.

Those closest to him immediately attempt to get away, all bodies pushing back on themselves to save their own.

It was futile, and within five seconds another body falls. This one screams as his throat is clawed open, slowly, allowing them to witness the amount of mercy they will receive. Which is none.

"Alpha please, there are children." Phoebe dares to beg, in tears as she cradles lotti into her chest, shielding her from the monster before them.

Hardin stalks towards the woman, reaching out with bloodied fingers and grabbing Phoebes jaw tightly. The she-wolf whimpers in pain, tears flooding from her eyes as she cringes away in fright, not recognising the cold, angry, dark glare of her own Alpha.

"A name." He commands venomously.

He felt no remorse, no guilt for terrifying a child that he'd known since she was born. He did not care that the woman was a close friend of his mates, even if he knew in his gut that Kali would hate him if he harmed her. That was the only thing stopping Hardin making Phoebe his next victim.

"I don't know." She whispers through trembling lips.

Hardin shoves her away roughly, leaving her to silently cry as he grips the woman beside her. Ignoring the scream of terror as his claws slice her face in half, blood bursting across his chest and arms.

"A NAME!" Hardin repeats, roaring in bloodthirsty rage.

Across the room Winter cradles her pup and mate, crying as she hears the innocent wolves being slaughtered.

"How many must die, Winter?" Someone questions.

"What?" Winter sniffles, turning to look up at the warrior, Beck.

His warm brown eyes are no longer friendly, his posture stiff. "I have been Kali's personal guard since the day she first wed Alpha Hardin, I kept tabs on her even when she was gone all those years."

Winters eyes widen, she swallows harshly. "You did?"

"I did." He confirms, staring down at the girl. "Phoebe was on the field searching for Lotti, Jackson saw Lucifer heading out into the woods and he went looking for Kali, Zed and I were with Hardin, the Alphas were with the Elders...the only person left unaccounted for...is you."
