Everyone had it hard in life. No one was less or more unfortunate than the other. If you looked closer you'd see that there was someone that was deeply unhappy. Of course, children was not exempt from this reality. Ebott City was a bustling place that was full of as much as crime as there was business, of course oddly enough these two things went hand in hand with another.
As quickly as people and monsters were to get knocked up they were just as quick to abandon their kids. The people were selfish and relished in their life of sin even a child wasn't enough to knock them to their senses. Unfortunately the 6 year old you was not spared from this. You were abandoned at the age of four, at least you could say you were lucky enough to be raised by the people that made you for that long. It only took four years until they had enough of you. They dropped you off at the closest orphanage and never looked back.
It's a sad thing to think about, especially since you can't recall their faces anymore. Not that someone who would abandon their kid was worth remembering. You weren't sure you had a single good thing to say about them anyways. However, you wondered if being at the orphanage was any better than living with them. You wanted to leave, you did ever since you first arrived. Your attempted at escaping failed everytime as you got caught. The care takers were horrible and the children were just as worse. If you weren't crying you were hiding just so you could be left alone. They would tell at you, pull, your hair, hit you, and mistreat you. It didn't matter who it was, everyone here was rotten.
No one ever got adopted here, it was rare and when they were it was when they were already of age. But the people that came didn't seem like good people. It was a hopeless place that lead to nowhere but a dead end. It was late, the lights were out and everyone was to be asleep. You slipped out of your bed and put on your shoes. This time you would escape. You quietly left the bedroom that was shared with all the other children and silently walked down the hall. Of course the front door was always locked , but you knew that the kitchen had a backdoor window that was broken. With your size you could easily slip through.
You silently walked down the stairs to the kitchen and found the window. You grabbed a chair so you could climb up and just as you thought you were finally about to leave the lights turned on.
"What are you doing?" You heard the bossy bratty voice
Kate was 4 years older than you and you hated her. She harrassed tou the most out of all they kids and she wasted no time expressing how much she disliked you.
"You think your so smart, wait till I tell the caretaker that your trying to escape again!" She grinned
You wasted no time to listen to her and tried to hurriedly crawl out the window.
"Hey!" Kate ran up to you and grabbed your arm roughly yanking you away. You fell away from the window off the chair and onto the hard tile floor.
I loud this was heard and you held your head in pain fighting back tears.
"Did you really think I was gonna let you leave? Are you stupid?"
You got up with a glare and tried again but just as Kate grabbed you once more you fought her back. The two of you engaged in throwing hands at each other. Kate, who was already bigger then you obviously beating you, but you throw your elbow in her face hitting her in the nose. She left go and held her face in pain her eyes watering.
"You are so dead!"
"Y/N TRYING TO ESCAPE AGAIN!!" She yelled loudly and you could see the lights being turned on once more. You glared at Kate and quickly squeezed yourself through the window.
Kate grabbed o to your leg trying to pull you back and you tried kicking her away.
"HURRY SHES OVER HERE!"
You refused to get caught. You whimpers as Kate's nails purposefully dug into your skin and you turned around and quickly gave her a painful punch on her hand causing her to let go.
You slipped through the window and quickly began running. You looked back you could see the flashlights looking for you. You kept running until you found a place to hide and stuck there for the rest of night .
2 weeks later-----
Of course you knew it. Surviving on the streets as a child no less was suicide. The people were mean and nasty. They wouldn't even spare you glance as you tried to beg for food or help. You didn't know what you expected but you just didn't want to be at that place anymore. You were hungry, you dug threw trash eating whatever scraps there was just to survive. Your feet hurt from walking, and you were tired from lack of sleep. Currently you were sitting on a bench just trying to rest your sore little feet.
The people and monsters that passed by gave you weird looks, alot of them unfriendly. The day was coming to and end as the sky slowly changed color. Your view of the sky was then blocked by a very big monster. He had a mean look and seemed very mad.
"Get lost you beat! You driving away my business!" He yelled
His loud voice startled you so much you quickly hot off the bench only to fall to the floor. Everyone only stared at what was happening and continued walking. No one would help you.
I tried standing up only to fall once more. You winced and tears came to your eyes. Your ankle hurt.
"Didnt you hear me?! I said leave!"
You shook in fear to afraid to move. You tried to speak your voice coming out weak.
"I-I cant"
"What do you mean you can't? If you don't leave right now you brat your gonna be in some trouble" he threatened
You struggled to quickly get up, tears falling down your face. You manage to stand and limped away as fast as you could almost tripping as you did.
"Hmph!" The monster left and went back inside is business.
After getting far enough away you began to slow down, dragging your leg lightly. People would bump into you or roughly push you.
"Watch where your going you stupid kid!" A man yelled as you were pushed to the floor.
Everyone continued to walk by never offering a hand. You crawled yourself into a cardboard box that was on am alley floor and decided to sit there for the night. You buried your head in your knees and cried, hungry tired, and hurt. Maybe you should have just stayed at the orphanage.
