-feel free to find battle music-
I sat on the front steps waiting for him to come back. I stared at the sky as the sun slowly began to set over the horizon. That's was the only thing that was left untouched in this world. Everything else was either gone, destroyed, or half of what it even was. There were no animals, people, or monsters. The only ones left now, were Sans and I. We were the only survivors of the aftermath.
Sans left to scout the area for a bit. To make sure they weren't still around. He didn't want me outside but I couldnt help but wait on the steps for him anxiously. After everything that's happened, I was afraid to loose someone else, the only person I had left. The events played over in my head whenever the chance came. We fought, we desperately fought to protect the place we called home. But in the end, it didn't matter they destroyed it all, they took everyone. In the midsts of it all I'm not sure how we survived a part of my memory felt like it was missing. But perhaps it was for the best. I don't think I could handle another painful memory. Whatever it was I hoped I didn't remember it.
"What are you doing out here?" I heard sans voice snapping me out of my thoughts.
I stood up quickly "sorry I just wanted to wait for you"
I opened the door to the house and Sans followed inside.
"I know you're worried but I need you to think about yourself, what would you do if they were saw you"
"But-"
"They might not be here now, but you never know when they might come" he said
"Sorry" I apologized
San's sighed and took a seat on the couch.
"Don't worry about it, you just need to be careful. I dont want to keep you cooped up in this house to but we have to be careful" he said
I understood sans, I understood how he felt. Out of the both of us, Sans was probably the more afraid to loose me than I was to loose him. After what happened to Papyru-
"Agh-!" I clenched my head in pain.
"Are you getting those headaches again?" Sans asked
"I'm fine, it was just a bit sudden, nothing to worry about" I reassured him.
Sans relaxed after he was sure I was okay.
"I'll go make something to eat" I told him. I'm sure he was hungry after walking around all day.
I entered the kitchen and grabbed a box of spaghetti. There was enough here to last us a year if necessary. I at least hoped it wouldn't have to be that long. 30 minutes later I was finished cooking. I brought out a plate for both of us and handed it to Sans. I took a seat on the couch beside him and twirled the noodles around my fork.
"Its a good thing-...." I tried saying something to brighten the mood by words died.
I put down my fork amd clenched my plate tightly.
I could feel Sans gaze on me. I opened my mouth, probably about to say something stupid. But, at that moment I couldnt help the words that spilled out.
"Do you think...if I had just given myself up all of this wouldn't have happened?" I asked
"What are you talking about y/n?"
"If I had just given my soul Papyrus and the others would still be here"
"Y/n stop, whether you gave it up or not all of this still would have happened" sans said
"But-"
"Papyrus and the others....they fought because they wanted to protect you, we all wanted to...we already knew what the price would have been" sans said is eyes lowering
