PART 1
The day I first met him would forever be a special memory among others that I would never forget.
I had been accepted as a new transfer to a private art school, one that I had dreamed and worked hard to get into. I transferred in the middle of spring and the gates to the school were like gold. The school yard was nicely paved and had beautiful flowers and trees that decorated the walk way. I was amazed at what I saw I could almost feel my heart keep out of my chest.
I was briefed on the rules of the school and I introduced myself to my class. Everyone seemed curious about me. I suppose it's not everyday you get a deaf musician into one of the tops schools in the country. At the time I was shy of the stares they gave me. I spoke sign language and not many were familiar with it. Luckily my teacher understood, however it did it make it a tad difficult to get along with others.
I was excited to be at the school. But most of all, I was excited and anxious to see the music room. The school day ended as soon as it started and I took my violin case and walked up the stairs to the direction of the music room. A few students roamed about, mostly those who had activites after school but otherwise than that it was empty.
I walked down the hall to the music room, curious to be in the music club. I found the oak doors and opened them. I walked inside , the room was surprisingly empty except for the giant grand piano that was in the center of the room. My eyes were drawn to the beautiful instrument and walked closer to it gently touching its smooth surface.
I yearned to hear the sounds of other instruments but unfortunately the oly sounds I've ever heard were the violin. I stepped away, and bent down to take out my violin. Just as I was about to play a sudden breeze blew gently playing with my hair. Glancing at the sudden open window I noticed a boy sleeping on the window ledge. He wore red framed glasses, however the most important and noticeable feature about him was that he was a monster, but more specifically a skeleton.
On that ledge, fast a sleep he looked so peaceful. The way the sun light cascaded down his face casting soft shadows, I couldn't help but be captivated at the sight of him. Almost as beautiful as the lone piano.
His eyes suddenly open and our eyes looked onto each other. I quickly looked away, embarrassed for staring and he shifted his position. He gave a sheepish smile and began to speak.
"That's a little embarrassing I didn't think anyone would come in here"
"No, I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare" I signed to him.
I began to wonder if I had been seeing things earlier. The moment he woke up he seemed upset.
"It's not a problem" he responded with a smile
"You understand sign language?" I asked. I had signed to him out of habit.
"Yeah, it would be weird if I didn't " he chuckled
I smiled a little. He got up and walked towards the piano. He looked at my violin then at me.
"Are you new here?"
