-A MEETING WITH A DEVIL-
I sat on my knees praying before the altar as my daily duties required. Before me I prayed before the mother statue wishing for the prosperity and safety of my people. As an convenant girl it was one of our many duties to keep ourselves pure and cleansed from the worlds dark touch. We were not to be tainted by outside interferences or we would be condemned by mother herself and would suffer endlessly for all eternity until we repented our sins.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked up to the great statue of mother as the light made her glow. I smiled and stood up to tend the flowers of my garden as I so often did. I was regarded as a model coven, I was devout in the faith and prayed and studied harder than any of the other girls. The priests would often preach of our duties and what a heavenly task we had to take upon us and thus I couldn't help but want to do even better.
The men of our covenant hardly ever did return back to our monastery. They were out fighting the war for peace and righteousness. Protecting us from the devil's that have thrown our world into chaos. I wish I could do more, but all I could do was pray for them and their victory, I just know everything will turn out alright, for Mother watches over all of her children.
I grabbed the watering can as I entered outside the garden and approached the flowers I spent my time tending to. Before it didn't have flowers around and I thought it made the place look so dreary, thankfully the head priest allowed me to do my gardening as I had asked since I was such a devout follower. I began watering the flowers and smiled happily when my eyes glanced over something. When I looked up I dropped my watering can in fright and covered my mouth with a gasp.
There, laid beside my bed of lilies was one of the devils. He wasn't moving and he looked injured. I needed to tell the Priest's quickly, a devil getting this close to monastery was unheard of. I was about to leave to alert them but I paused. He was really beat up, I couldn't just leave him like that could I? Our teachings said mother loves all and cares for all, and to love and care for those in need. He was devil, so was I to turn away when he was clearly in need of some first aid? I bit my lip.
I got closer to it and slowly reached a hand for it poking it. I hoped I would not be penalized for something like this. I am only following as my faith implies. I moved throwing his hand over my shoulder and began dragging him towards the church.
I managed to apply bandages although I found it hard to. A placed a wet cloth on his head. He was breathing, although he didn't have lungs. It had been my first time seeing a devil, and one such as this. Are teachings have told us they were fearsome beasts capable of mass destruction. That they were sinners that stole power from the gods and it is why we fight them. For a covenant girl like myself to be near one let alone touch them would be a severe punishment as one of our priest said. I remember when one of the girls had not done her duties as was required she was dragged away never to be seen again. I heard rumors saying she received a grave punishment, talks of torture for her blasphemy. I shuddered to think what would happen.
I began to realize the eyes of the monster were beginning to open just as I was about to grab the cloth of his head to change it. His hand suddenly grabbed mine and it was warm oddly warm. I gasped in response and before I knew it, it yanked me towards him and I was pinned on the bed under him.
"Where am I what is this place!?" He growled out angering me.
"T-the church at the monastery, I saw you were injured and brought you here"
