PART TWO
---------------------

*GASP*

My whole body ached all over. I twitched in pain and struggled to breathe. What was going on what happened?

I opened my blurry eyes to the sight of the cloudy sky that cried as the rain fell. I was laying down on the floor lost in a daze as the pain in my body slowly left.

My mind was blank until it all came back to me.

"Didn't I jump? Shouldn't I be dead?"

I looked at my hands, my eyes slightly wide. I was alive, and I was breathing. But, where was I?

I quickly sat up and looked around. Buildings, and....Sans?!

He laid on the floor passed out, not moving.

I quickly went over to him and I was stunned. This, this was what he wore all those years ago when we were...running away.

I looked and surely enough, we were back in that city, I was back, back to 6 years ago. But how?!.

It didn't make any sans.

"Sans!" I shook him awake, but he still hadn't moved.

I looked around once again and then I remember when this was. We were running across the roofs because we were being chased, and then we decided to jump down onto a dumpster to escape.

If I remembered correctly,  this part was one of the toughest times we spent on run, because after that fall, sans didn't wake up for a few days and I was worried sick.

I grabbed sans and slung his arm over my shoulder. I stood up with a grunt and proceeded to carry him over to a place with shelter from the rain.

It took awhile but I found the abandoned building from before and I laid him to rest inside.  Iy had a few graffiti markings here and there, obvious that squatters frequented the place.

I sat next to him trying to warm myself up as I hugged myself. I looked over at sans, his face was flushed. He was running a fever.

I moved him so he could rest his head on my lap.

If this wasn't a dream and I was really back to the past, then I wasn't going to make the same mistakes again, I wasn't going to abandon him like I did then. This time...I would keep my promise, I would be the one to give sans the happiness he deserves.

"...I'll protect you this time, I promise"

.....

BOOOOOMM!!!

The sound of thunder jolted me awake, I hadn't even realized I had fallen asleep. I blinked and looked down. Sans was groaning in his sleep, he was uncomfortable.

I removed my jacket and gently moved sans so he could lay on it.

I could hear him mumble in his sleep, a few words slipping by here and there. I stood up it wasn't raining anymore, it was only thundering. I needed to go out and get him some medicine.
