Alyssa: i almost told my mom but i panicked and chickened out

Me: it's okay don't rush it when the time comes you'll be ready❤️

Me: baby it's okay you'll get there

I can tell that Alyssa is worked up. She just needs to not think about coming out and relax before she explodes. Senior year is supposed to be fun and she added unnecessary stress. My girlfriend...the over thinker.

Alyssa: how did you do it

Me: i mustered up enough courage and told my parents...obviously it didn't end up well but it's okay

Alyssa: you're strong...did you know that💜

Me: so i've been told lol

Our anniversary is next month. I'm completely stumped on what to get her. I already gave her a necklace before she went to camp last summer.

I want Alyssa to know how much I love her. I want her to know how special she is. I want her to know that a year together means the world to me.

On this day last year, I asked Alyssa Greene to be my girlfriend. Okay, so Alyssa convinced her mom to let her sleepover at a "friends" house. That "friend" being Shelby or Kaylee. But, I was thinking we drive an hour after school to get sushi and then just see what happens after. I'm nervous so my brain is a scrambled mess.

Me: happy 1 year anniversary❤️ i love you so much i can't wait until after school i have surprises for you

Alyssa: happy 1 year💜 i love you more than words can describe i also have surprises for you lol

I really just want to be by her all day and just hold her hand, but it can wait. I get ready for school as usual, but it feels weird. I have a tingling feeling all over my body. I get into my truck and drive to school and I still have that tingling feeling. I get to my locker at school and Alyssa bumps into me today and I look up at her. She looks so beautiful. The tingling gets stronger. It's my nerves. I don't want to mess things up today and just seeing Alyssa makes me 10x more nervous. It's alright Emma you just have to make it through the school day without throwing up.

I get to my first class and sit down. "Okay today we are just taking notes, so please take out your notebooks." says Mr. Haywire. I take out my notebook and start copying the notes from the board. Why is my body still tingling? Everything is gonna be fine...just calm down. I am calm. I am calm. I am calm.

"Emma?" Mr. Haywire asks. "Are you okay? You look a little green."

I didn't even notice him walking around looking at people's notes.

"I'm fine." I say.

My stomach churns a little bit. I refuse to throw up at school, so I take a deep breath and keep taking notes. The bell rings and I speed walk to the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror. Did I really look green? If anything I look flushed. The rest of my school day is filled with my body still tingling and my stomach churning. At this point, I think I'm just allergic to school.
