a/n: long chapter ahead:)

I invited Barry over to my house to help me get ready for prom. I tried to say no, but he insisted. I was going to wear a tux, but I guess he has other plans.

The doorbell rings and my Nana goes to let Barry in.

"Oh, such a lovely home." Barry says as he walks in.

I walk downstairs and awkwardly wave at him.

"Okay Emma, let's go through any dresses you have now." Barry says.

"I only have one though." I say nervously.

"Okay...well let's see it." Barry chuckles.

I go upstairs to my closet and start throwing stuff out of it until I find the one dress I have. I'm pretty sure it's a vintage nightgown. I walk downstairs to present myself.

"Okay, so this is the only dress I have." I say nervously.

Barry and my Nana look at me up and down.

"Um...okay you could wear that to prom or a revival of little house on the prairie." Barry says.

"It's official he's my favorite." my Nana laughs.

"Emma please let me dress you." Barry begs.

"I don't know...what did you wear to prom?" I ask.

"I was going to wear a silver and blue tux. I was there, but when I saw my crush go in with his date...I left." Barry says sadly. "This isn't about me. What's your date wearing?"

"I don't know...I've never even been to her house before. Her mom doesn't know about us." I say quietly.

"Well how long have you two been together?" Barry asks.

"A year and a half." I say nervously.

"Oh, Emma." Barry says sadly.

"It's okay. She's coming out tonight." I say with a smile.

"Emma please let me dress you for this. Can we go to the mall? Can we mall it?" Barry asks.

"Is that okay?" I ask my Nana.

"Please mall the hell out of it!" my Nana exclaims.

"Let's go!" Barry shouts.

Barry and I arrive at the mall and he immediately drags me into the first store with dresses he sees.

"Here try this on." Barry says while handing me a dress."And this one. Oh and this one."

"Why so many? Can't we just find one?" I ask.

Barry stops in his tracks. "Emma you have to find the right dress and that comes with trial and error, alright?"

"This is kind of stressful." I laugh.

"I can tell you're feeling weary, but you can count on Uncle Barry. He can turn this butchy duck into a swan." Barry says as he looks me up and down. "You're whole look could use a shake up. You can borrow all my makeup and the pair of spanks I currently have on."

"I think I'll pass." I say.

"Treat the whole world like your runway. Make it fierce, but in a fun way. Try to flip your hair like Cher and drag queens do." Barry says as he pushes me into the dressing room. "And I don't mean to be rude dear, but you could use some attitude dear. Let's show the school that tonight belongs to you."
