Regulus Black was pacing outside the room where Mia's unconscious body was. Esmeralda cooked up a potion to heal the young De Martel and advised Regulus to stay out due to the fact that Esmeralda knew that Regulus would be perching at her shoulder ever second as she healed Amelia.
Slowly, Mia's eyes began to open, only to see Esmeralda sitting at the side of the bed, placing a wet towel over her forehead.
"You're awake." Esmeralda said in a stoic voice. Mia tried get up but Esmeralda quickly stopped her. "Get some more rest. It won't be good for you." she advised.
Mia nodded, laying back down. "How am I here?" Mia asked, her brows furrowed. "How does Regulus know this house?"
"I think you better ask him that." Esmeralda answered, standing up from the bed. "I'll make something to eat while you and the young man talk things out. He's furious, by the way." with that, Esmeralda opened the door, Regulus quickly approached her.
"Well?" Regulus asked. "How's she doing? Is she fine?"
Esmeralda nodded. "Go on inside. Talk to her. Do not stress her. It's already past midnight, so do not shout." she warned before walking away. Esmeralda knew that something was different from Amelia. Although, it wasn't the time to blurt it out. Esmeralda decided to tell them in the morning.
The door made a creaking noise as Regulus opened it, catching Mia's attention. Regulus sighed in relief as he saw her feeling well, pale but well.
"How are you feeling?" Regulus asked, grabbing a chair close to the bed before sitting down.
"Hungry and I feel a little light headed after drinking the burning potion but otherwise I'm feeling fine." Mia answered, almost amused with the situation.
"That was stupid, Amelia." Regulus said in a stern voice, crossing his arms against his chest. "You drank the potion even though I specifically told you not to. I asked Kreacher to take you away from the cave yet you came back. You could've died, Mia."
Mia scoffed. "So would you! If I haven't come back, you would be underwater right now. Cold and dead." the brunette stated. "A thank you would've been nice."
Regulus rolled his eyes. "Thank you." he muttered. "I'm still worried about you, though."
Mia shook her head, not worrying about herself at the moment. "I'm more worried about Kreacher. Do you think he'll be able to destroy it?"
"Of course. I trust him. He'll destroy it." Regulus answered. "You worry about yourself, Mia. You look like shit."
The brunette smiled sarcastically. "Thanks." Regulus chuckled before Mia joined her. After a few more minutes of talking, Mia eventually went to sleep. Regulus placed a kiss on top of his head before walking downstairs which he completely regretted as soon as he heard a voice. James Potter's voice.
Esmeralda opened up the door, with a confused look on her face. "Mr. Potter, what can I do for you at this hour?" Esmeralda asked, faking a yawn. She snapped her fingers behind her back to place a spell on her two house guests, to prevent anyone from seeing them.
"We were actually wondering if Mia dropped by to visit earlier today?" James asked, shoving his hands inside the pockets of his coat.
"We think she ran away. James hasn't seen her since this morning." Haven added. "Did she by any chance came here?
Esmeralda shook her head. "No, Amelia hasn't visited me in a while now." the old lady answered. "Why did she ran away? Did something happened?"
Haven chuckled nervously. "Just a disagreement, that's all." she answered. Have glanced at James who looked sadder than before. "Well, we should get going. Thank you for time and sorry for dropping by at this hour." Haven gave the old woman a small smile before pulling James away from the house.
"Shit. I actually thought that she would be there." James said, frustrated. "I don't know where to look anymore. Shit. I don't know how to bring her home."
"Calm down, James. Let's head home. Sirius is probably worried." Haven suggested. James agreed. They went back to the house. James felt empty. He felt empty without the woman he loves and that was all his fault and he knew it.
As soon as Esmeralda closed the door she snapped away the spell before facing the raven haired boy.
"You never told me that she left him." Esmeralda said, nonchalantly.
"She'll come back to him." Regulus said. "She always comes back to him." he said, bitterly. "You can stop cooking. Mia's asleep. You should too."
Amelia woke up to run to the bathroom as she felt something running up her throat. She felt sick, sicker than what she felt nights ago. She was still throwing up when Regulus pulled her head back, gently caressing the brunette's back.
"What happened? Are you sick?" Regulus asked, sounding worried as per usual.
Mia shook her head, flushing the toilet before standing up to wash her face. "I'm fine." she simply answered. "What time is it?" she asked, yawning.
"Almost eleven." Regulus answered. "Let's eat breakfast. I cooked because Esmeralda left to do some errands." He said as they both walked out, heading downstairs.
Mia furrowed her brows. "Do you even know how to cook?"
"Of course I do." the raven haired man scoffed. "I can cook. I cooked you pancakes when we were in New York."
"And we both ended up eating mac and cheese for breakfast." Mia recalled, laughing slightly before sitting down on the dining table. "But I'll eat whatever you cooked because I am famished."
Regulus placed eggs and ham on Mia's plate. He found it quite odd that Mia was eating a lot more than usual. Though, he wasn't one to judge so he shook it off.
"I've been meaning to ask, how exactly do you know Esmeralda Acker?" Mia asked before drinking her water. "You knew where she lived and you two seemed to be properly acquainted."
Regulus faked a cough. "I met her when Damon was still alive." he answered, quietly. "It's not actually a big deal." he added, looking away.
Mia frowned. "Damon brought you here? Why?" Mia asked, curiously. "I know that you and Damon have secrets."
He sighed. "It's actually not time for us to talk about this." Regulus answered and Mia frowned again. "Like you said, Damon and I have secrets. I'd like to keep it a secret for a little longer, Amelia."
Mia rolled her eyes before continuing to eat. "Do you think Esmeralda would mind if we stay here for a bit?" She asked.
Regulus' forehead creased a bit. "Aren't you supposed to be heading back to Potter? He went here last night, with Sirius' wife. They were looking for you. They're worried sick."
Her eyes widened in shock. "They did? Why? How? How did they knew that I was here? Did you tell them that I was here?" Mia accused.
"What? No!" Regulus exclaimed. "What the hell is happening? Why don't you want to be found?"
Mia sighed, looking at Regulus who was waiting for her to reply. "James cheated. While we were being.... you know." she said, quickly, clutching her shirt. "I just needed space from everyone. If I stayed with some friends James or our friends would definitely come find me and convince me to come home. It's just suffocating and it sucks."
"Do you still love him?" Regulus asked, hoping she would say no.
"Yes." she replied. "I still love him despite what he did. I would still choose him, but right now, I just need stay from everyone."
The raven haired boy nodded. “I'll help you. I'll keep you away from them for as long as you like. I'll protect you until you're ready to go back.”
A/N: Team Jamelia? Or Team Regemlia? I'm sort of rooting for both. I hope you enjoy this chapter!!!
