Sierra was miserable.
It was probably because Damian and Elijah forced her to come with them to Hogsmeade when she much rather stayed in bed. No, it was definitely because she was freezing. Her gloved hands were inside the pockets of coat as she walked in between the boys, slightly shivering at the cool wind that hit her face.
The brunette always hated the cold weather, it reminded her of the melancholic things in life. The only time she actually enjoyed the weather was when she was with Damon. God, she really missed her twin so bad it made her bit her lip to stop here from tearing up. She hated being far away from him.
Elijah rolled his eyes when he saw his friend shivering once again, grabbing her arm with one hand, which forced her to stop walking and his other hand gripping on the scarf around his neck, the fabric sliding off his neck. "You really need to put on more layers, you know you always get this cold." he grumbled, wrapping the scarf around her neck.
Sierra laughed softly. "Won't this look odd?" she asked, looking up at him as Elijah fixed the scarf around her neck.
"What would look odd?"
"A Slytherin wearing a Gryffindor scarf. Quite scandalous, don't you think?" A mischievous grin formed on her lips in which received an eye roll and flick at her forehead.
"Oi! You two, stop messing around!" Damian yelled from inside Honeydukes which immediately made the two of them run inside the sweets shop.
"Where's Fred and George?" The brunette asked as she picked out a few sweets for herself and some for Theodore. "I thought they were joining us today."
"They're helping Ginny with something." Damian replied, looking at her basket which made his brows furrow. He knew for a fact that Sierra was not the type who enjoyed chocolates so it was a sight to see her putting chocolates in her basket. "You're getting chocolates?"
The girl nodded, unaware of the boys' shared glance. "Yup, I'm buying it for my friend." Sierra didn't see the looks of her friends as she paid for the sweets. "Do you boys want to get some butterbeer with me?"
"Your treat?" Elijah asked, taking the bag of sweets off of her hands. "As long as you two are paying, I'll go."
"Cheap." Damian and Sierra both muttered under their breath. Despite being from a rich family, Elijah Black refuses spend his money. He always claims that it's his family's money and he had no right to use it, but he never fails to give them lavish gifts on their birthday.
The three of them walked together while Sierra talked about the random things that popped inside her mind, laughter and chatter filled their ears when they entered the Three Broomsticks.
"I'll get us our drinks and you boys find us a table." Sierra said but before she could even walk away, Damian held onto her coat. "What?"
"Elijah will get us our drinks and we'll find a table, how does that sound?" Damian gave one of his innocent smile towards Elijah who rolled his eyes at him. "Come on." The brunette boy dragged his friend to one of the tables.
As they were walking, Sierra felt something wrong. It was like she was being watched, a familiar feeling if someone were to ask her. Looking around, she saw a silhouette of a man walking further into the shop.
"I'll be back. I just need to use the loo." The brunette didn't give Damian time to respond as she immediately started walking towards the direction of the silhouette.
The girl didn't know what she was doing, following someone like that. But she couldn't help but feel drawn to it, like she was meant to follow that person. Sierra stopped walking when she reached the quiet hallway. Where the hell did they go?
"Sierra." The whisper made her stiffened.
"Definitely not creepy." she grumbled under her breath as she climbed up the stairs, her hands feeling cold despite wearing gloves. There was another whisper and another as she walked towards a room. God, she was dumb for following whatever was watching her. She could hear her brother chastising her for being so dumb. Well, if she dies at least she doesn't have to take anymore exams.
When she opened the door, the first thing she was a back of a man. Black coat hung over his body and his body stiff. Once the man turned around, her eyes widened in shock and her mouth let out a small gasp. "Regulus?"
A warm smile appeared on his face. "Shut the door, darling." Regulus eyes immediately saw the red and gold scarf around his daughter's neck. Almost made him want to ask.
"What on earth are you doing here?" The girl asked, shutting and locking the door behind him. "You aren't even supposed to be here, you aren't supposed to be seen here!"
Regulus raised a brow at her. "And how do you know about that?" he asked so casually as if he wasn't scared of letting people know that Regulus Black was alive and well.
"I eavesdrop on you and mum, what else?"
"And you aren't gonna tell your mother about this because if you do, both of us will be six feet under." Amelia De Martel was an angel in Regulus' eyes, but there was no telling what she would do if she found out all the things he had done up to this point. All he knows is that, he does not want to find out.
Sierra raised a brow, arms crossed against her chest. "Why did you risk coming here then?" she asked. "You said you and mum refuse to come back to this part of the world. I assumed that the reason for it was because of you guys went through during the war."
A chuckle escaped his lips. "You really need to stop eavesdropping on every conversation we have, darling." His face hardened, his back pressed against a wooden desk. "On more serious matters, I came here for you."
"What does that suppose to mean?" She was almost afraid to ask.
"There's a tournament coming, the Triwizard Tournament, to be exact. As per my informat, Hogwarts would be hosting the games which means two different wizarding schools are coming to Scotland."
"Okay." The brunette nodded in acknowledgement, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "What does that have to do with you risking your life by comings here?"
"Drumstrang Institute is one of those schools, Sierra."
"Oh." Sierra didn't know how to respond to that. Damon and Sierra were sent to separate schools for a reason, their parents took countermeasures to ensure their safety by putting them in different schools. Sierra knew that so when the information that she and her brother would be in the same place during a school year was something she didn't liked. "Does this mean you're taking me home?"
Regulus frowned at her dejected tone. "Oh, darling, of course not. I'm here to tell you that you need to avoid you brother at all cost."
"I think it would be much better if I just go home."
"I'm serious, Sierra. Both of you have spend three school years apart from each other, it shouldn't be that hard to avoid Damon."
"But—"
"Sierra?" Regulus and Sierra froze in their spot when heard a voice outside of the door. It was Elijah. When Sierra turned around, Regulus raised his index finger against his lips.
"Avoid your brother at all cost. No one can know who you two are. Stay safe and I will see you in Christmas." And before she knew it, Regulus Black was gone.
With a sigh, she exited the room. "Hey."
"Hey, you've been gone a long time. I thought I'd check up on you. I thought you were going to the loo?" Elijah asked as they walked down the stairs.
"Oh, yeah, I got lost trying to find my way back." Her nails buried into the palms of her hands as she lied. He narrowed his eyes at her, but didn't say anything else as they walked back to the table in silence.
A chill went down her spine again and that familiar feeling. The feeling that someone was watching her.
