"Hey. Pack up your things. We're going somewhere." Regulus announced as he entered the brunette's room.
She furrowed her brows slightly as she gently got off the bed. "Why? Where are we going? Aren't we supposed to stay inside?" she questioned all at once. She was bored as per usual.
"Just trust me, will you?" the raven haired man said. "Pack up and head downstairs after." he grinned before shutting the door. He was giddy and Amelia found it odd since he's been nothing but serious the past few months.
Amelia was skeptical but, she still packed up her belongings. She trusted the man and she knew that he wouldn't do her any harm, at least, not intentionally.
She glanced at the mirror, her eyes trailing down to her baby bump. It has gotten bigger than a few months ago. Amelia was happy and just a month more and she'll be going back.
When the brunette got downstairs with her luggage floating down behind her, she saw Regulus and Esmeralda whispering. It was a natural occurrence that she didn't bother to ask about since they didn't tell her the first time she ever asked.
"Fancy explaining why you had me pack my belongings?" The brunette asked, slightly annoyed.
"Both of you are moving out." Esmeralda simply explained. "As much as I love taking care of family, both of you aren't safe with me anymore."
"What do you mean by that?" Amelia asked, her forehead creasing as her hand rested on her tummy. "Are the deatheaters still hell bend on finding us? Don't they ever get tired of it?"
"It's not just them, Mia. It's your family." Regulus explained. "Esmeralda tried to stall them as best as she could but right now, your family is getting persistent. They think Esmeralda is finding you which she is."
"Gabriel and Grayson asked if they could come over. They wouldn't take a no for an answer. I had to say yes or else they'd think that I was hiding something or someone." Esmeralda imparted and Amelia pursed her lips.
They were right, the De Martels were persistent on finding Morticia Amelia De Martel. Three months ago, Grayson was in Seattle, trying to search for her sister. Thankfully, Esmeralda casted a cloacking spell on both, Regulus and Amelia.
The brunette nodded. "Where are we going to? Back to Manhattan?" she asked, curiously before taking a seat. "If we're going back to Manhattan, I'd pass on that. The place gives me the creeps." she immediately said which made the raven haired man chuckled.
"We aren't going to New York, Amelia. We are staying here in Seattle. Just a different house." Regulus explained, before leaving the room. Amelia turned to the older woman with a small grin dancing on her lips.
"Are you kicking us out because we steal your food?" she asked, jokingly and Esmeralda rolled her eyes at her.
"As much as I want to say yes, it's not because of that, Amelia." Esmeralda started, sitting down next to the brunette. "We need to take precautions. If your family does come here, they probably have deatheaters trailing behind them. We can't have you getting hurt." she continued and made the pregnant woman frown.
"I hate deatheaters." Amelia chimed as she sighed. "It's nice to be away from the war. No deatheaters, no one is dying from the war here, no You-know-who."
"You know, you could stay in Seattle for a while." Esmeralda suggested. "If you go back, you'll be endangering yourself and the baby. You should stay safe. Both of you will be safe in Seattle."
The side of her lips rise, forming a smile. "Are you convincing me to stay, Esme?" she asked and the older woman just shrugged. "Maybe after I have the baby, I'll think about it."
"You're due in four weeks, meaning Savannah will have to check on you weekly if ever you have early labor." Regulus voiced as he entered the room again with his trunk was in the air behind him. "I've already sent her the new address. Are you ready to go, Mia?"
The brunette nodded before giving Esmeralda a warm hug. Over the past couple of months, Amelia grew fond of the older woman and Esmeralda did the same.
"You stay safe, little Morticia." Esmeralda offered her a smile as she escaped from the brunette's embrace before she glanced at the raven haired man and then back to the woman who reminded her of someone she used to hate. "Both of you stay safe. Run away if you must as long as the two of you are safe and as long as the baby is safe."
"We will stay safe, Esmeralda. You shouldn't worry about us. You should worry about yourself." the raven haired man stated, chuckling lightly. "We'll see each other again. Once all of this is over."
Amelia and Regulus held each other's hand, with one last goodbye, the two of them left leaving Esmeralda Acker alone once again.
Esmeralda Acker was confounded and scared of the situation as her mind went back to their conversation three weeks ago.
It was another check up fot Amelia and her baby. She was in another room with Savannah Salvador whilst Regulus and Esmeralda were in the kitchen, discussing another one of their worries.
"You think you both of you aren't safe anymore?" the older woman asked, her forehead creasing. "I can assure you, Regulus. You, the baby, and Amelia are safe here. Damon assured it and I assured it."
"Damon said we'll be safe here for the time being but he didn't say that we'll be safe here forever." Regulus corrected, sighing heavily. "I think we're being watched. I can feel it every time, like someone's watching us from the windows. I can't risk them finding Amelia. If they do, we'll all be good as dead."
"You're still worried about what Damon told you." Esmeralda voiced. "Sugar and salt looks the same. Be careful who you trust." she repeated the words.
Regulus pursed his lips, nodding a bit. "I'm skeptical and cautious about everything. I really want to keep her, Esme. I can't do that if I'm always paranoid about someone seeing us. I love her and I can't lose her. I don't want to lose the child as well."
Esmeralda took a deep breath before speaking. "Then, do what you have to do, Black. If you think she's in danger here, take her away from here. Do whatever you have to do to protect her and the baby."
Esmeralda Acker was snapped away from her thoughts when the door exploded. It opened up, revealing a man in a dark coat. In that moment, Esmeralda realized that Regulus was right about them being in danger and she was thankful that they were able to get out in time.
The man pointed his wand at the woman as his lips quirked up, showing a crooked smile. "Hello, Esmeralda. Mind telling me where the lovely Amelia De Martel is?"
She furrowed her brows, pointing her wand back at him. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"Tell me where she is." he said through his gritted teeth and the woman stayed silent. Esmeralda was trying to comprehend everything. Who would he want to see her? Why was he raising his wand at me? Esmeralda thought to herself.
The man shook his head in disappointment before laughing maniacally. "I honor your loyalty, Esmeralda, I really do, but you'll only get yourself hurt if you don't tell me where she is. Haven't enough people died to protect her?" Said the man. "Don't you think she's the reason why almost everyone died? They died for her."
"They died because she was worth it. So go to hell." she spat, glaring at him. His eyes began to darkened at her words. That's where Esmeralda knew, he had gone mad.
He sighed in disappointment. "Very well. This is going to be a long and painful day, Esmeralda, but you signed up for it." he muttered, a maniacal grin forming on his lips. "Crucio."
A/N: Can you guess who's the mystery man? I can't give out clues but he's sus. Sorry for the short chapter. Stay tuned for the next chapter!!!
