"Wait!"

"I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In Azkaban!" Sirius yelled in frustration.

Remus sighed in defeat. "Very well, kill him, but wait one more minute. Harry has the right to know why."

"I know why." The bespectacled boy who reminded the two adults of their dear friends. "You betrayed my parents. You're the reason why my mother is dead!"

"No, Harry, it wasn't him." The Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor said as he stepped forward. "Somebody did betray your parents, but it was somebody who, until quite recently I believed to be as dead."

"What was is then?" the boy demanded as Hermione gave her friend a sympathetic glance.

"Peter Pettigrew!" Yelled Sirius. "And he's in this room! Right now! Come out, come out, Peter! Come out, come out and play!" he yelled out, deliriously. Just as he finished those words, Professor Snape entered the room, disarming him of his wand.

The three third years looked their Potions Professor in shock before he spoke, "Vengeance is sweet. How I hoped I'd be the one to catch you."

"Severus." Remus tried to stepped forward, but immediately stepped back when Snape pointed the wand directly at him.

"I told Dumbledore you were helping a friend into the castle and now, here's the proof."

"Brilliant, Snape." Sirius stepped forward. "You've put your keen mind to the task and come to the wrong conclusion. Now, if you'll excuse us, Remus and I have some unfinished business to attend to."

Snape stuck his wand against the alleged mass murderer's neck. "Give me a reason. I beg you." he seethed.

"Severus, don't be a fool." Remus shook his head.

Sirius snorted. "He can't help it. It's his habit."

"Sirius, be quiet!"

"Be quiet yourself, Remus!"

"You two, quarreling like an old married couple." The man mockingly said.

"Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set?" That caused the Potions Professor to stick the wand against his throat harder.

"I could do it, you know? But why deny the dementors? They're so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear? Oh, yes. A dementor's kiss. One can imagine what that must be like to endure. It's said to be nearly unbearable to witness, but I'll do my best."

"Severus, please." The werewolf begged. Just as he spoke, Harry discreetly grabbed the girl's wand, pointing it at Sirius and then to Snape.
