"Please stop crying." Amelia practically begged the two year old Damon as she bounced him up on her leg, attempting to make him stop crying. "I promise that once you let mommy finish studying then we can play, okay?"
School in the muggle world was harder than she expected. Amelia's mind would explode if she read one more thing about any kind of math. But she loves a good challenge and it did kept her mind off of things that had happened.
All was well for the past two years. Amelia managed to balance school and taking care of the twins with the help of Regulus, even though she knew that she could do it all by herself, the man always insisted that he would take care of them while she studied. Regulus, other than hand, got a job at the Magical Congress. How he got it? She had absolutely no idea due to the fact that he wouldn't tell her how.
Even with his job, he always managed to take care of the twins and take care of the brunette. Regulus never failed to be by their side and Amelia was thankful for him staying even after everything.
As if Damon understood what his mother was saying, he stopped fussing and started pouting. The woman placed a kiss on the boy's head before placing him on his highchair for a moment and turning her attention to her books and notes. Exams were in a week and she needed to study like hell if she wanted to pass her second year.
Though the silence was suffocating her, why? Because normally the twins were never quiet, it's always one of them crying and the other sleeping. Never the two of them quiet.
Grabbing her wand from the table, she slowly walked to the nursery. The sound of Sierra cooing, almost like she was entertained by something. She stiffened, her blood going cold. She could not go through this again.
Memories still plagued her dreams every night. The blood, the torture, the lifeless eyes of her oldest brother. It still haunted her.
Wand at the ready, she opened the door and pointed her wand at the intruder. The woman gapped upon seeing him carrying her baby girl in his arms. With a shaky breath, she asked as her wand was still pointed at him. "What are you doing here?"
"I was in the neighborhood."
Amelia forced herself not to scoff at him, considering the fact that he was an old friend and her former headmaster. "Let me rephrase the question, how did you know that I was here? That I alive."
"People have very loud thoughts, Miss De Martel." Dumbledore simple said, placing the baby back in her bassinet before turning to face the woman. "You must know this by know considering your brother always said that."
She was thrown off at the mention of Damon, but she refused to let it show. Amelia didn't have time for it. "How long have you known that— I was alive and here?" she had asked as the two of them exited the twins' nursery.
"Did you know that you were my favorite amongst all of the De Martel's that came after your grandparents?" The man had a small smile on his lips. "You and Austin are very much alike. You remind me a lot of him."
The woman scoffed. "You know, it's not really comforting to be related to a man who drove the woman he loves to insanity." The woman sassed. "Please tell me you have a good reason on why you are here. Don't try and stall."
"Do you have any tea?"

Ever since that day Albus Dumbledore had been doing visiting his favorite De Martel (well, the sane and alive one) for at least every two or three months for the past couple of years. It was a routine and surprisingly, Amelia didn't object to it. Not like she had a choice in the matter, the headmaster would come not matter what she says. It wasn't a problem anyway.
