"This is a terrible idea." muttered the brunette as they walked through the crowd of witches and wizards in Diagon Alley. "Why are we here again?"
"You haven't left the house in week, Sierra. It's time for you to stop reading and get out of the house." Maven said, enthusiastically as she shoved her hands inside the pockets of her hoodie.
After a month and a half of traveling around the world, Sierra and her family finally got home last week. Ever since then, Damon and Sierra were back to trying to figure out who their father was. They've found out who the two unfamiliar De Martels were. Older brothers of their dear mother, Grayson De Martel and Damon De Martel. It confuses them on why they haven't met them or why their mother hasn't talked about them.
Going back to finding their father, they weren't exactly sure who is was since their mother was close with everyone in their group. Although, the photograph of Amelia and Regulus did alarmed them in a good way, of course. Deep down, both of them were praying that he was their biological father.
In between the week, Damon left for his sleepover at his friend's house, where he'll stay until after the Quidditch World Cup. The twins were surprised that their mother and Regulus even allowed the male twin to go. Damon, of course wanted to know if his twin was alright with him not being around, he didn't want her to feel left out. Sierra just waved him off, telling him that she'll be alright.
"I can read while being outside the house." she mumbled, covering her mouth to yawn. "Does mum and Regulus even know that you took me here?"
"Of course they know. They'd take you, but they—"
"Yeah. I know. They can't."
While her Godfather was saying something, she drifted away from the conversation as her eyes wandered down to familiar boy, a friend. Her feet unconsciously moved on their own, following his direction as she ignored her Godfather's calls.
"Jace— Jace! Wait!" she yelled, pushing through the crowd. She thought that he couldn't hear her, but she swore that he stopped in his tracks. Before the brunette knew it, he was gone.
She was still pushing through the crowd when a pair of strong arms were placed on top of her shoulders, forcing her to stop. When she whipped her attention to the person who had stood in her way, the girl's features immediately softened.
"Sierra, you alright?" Damian questioned as the girl tried to mask her pained expression. Sierra's old friend knew that she was calling for him, yet he didn't stop and face her and she didn't knew why.
"Yeah yeah. I'm fine." she forcing herself to smile. "You're a sight for sore eyes, Damian Lupin. Haven't seen you in a while."
"Probably because it's summer." the brown haired boy sassed which made her roll her eyes at him. "But, I missed you too." he added, cracking a playful grin.
"Sierra Priestley, don't go running around like that. Your mother will have both our heads if you get lost." Maven scolded as soon as he caught up with her, only to find her goddaughter with a boy he knew.
"Right. Sorry, I just thought I saw someone I knew." she murmured which caught both their attention before the older man turned to the young boy.
"Damian, are you here alone?"
"No, I'm here wi—"
"Maven Jones." the woman grinned, stepping besides his son. "Haven't seen you in a while."
"What can I say, Savannah? I'm a very busy man now." he said, jokingly which caused the two adults to chuckle. "Savannah, I'd like you to meet my goddaughter, Sierra." he said.
