Regulus Black felt out of place in the muggle world. He studied about them during his time at Hogwarts (As much as his past self hated it, he absorbed the information), but everything felt so foreign as he tried to blend in.

He needed to try. For Mia and the twins.

Eventually, he didn't have to do as much. Regulus got a job at the Magical Congress of the United States of America. Francis Kelman, a close friend of his and the one who hired him, made sure he had immunity for his crimes when he was a deatheater and as well as a cover for who he truly was. Thankfully, Francis was an influential man which made it easier to manipulate the truth.

The raven haired man ran his fingers through his hair as he analyzed the paperwork in front of him. He needed to finish work soon if he wanted to catch dinner with Mia and the twins.

His head lifted up when Francis entered his office with a smug smile on his face. "No." Regulus immediately answered before his eyes returned to the paperwork in front of him which caused his friend to frown immediately.

"You don't even know what I'm going to say!"

"I think you forgot that I'm a skilled Legilimens, Francis." Regulus replied in a monotone voice as he leaned back against his swivel chair. "Besides, I don't need to read your mind to know what you're going to say. I am not going on a date with one of your friends."

"But you'll love her!" Francis protested. "You need to get over her, Reg." The man pointed at the framed photo of Mia on the desk.

Regulus glared at the man. He's trying to. He really is, but how can he move on when she's the only girl he ever loved? Regulus still loves her even if Mia doesn't love him.

"Also, you need to have sex with someone because you're too uptight. Too sexually frustrated."

"Get out of my sight, Kelman, before I fucking curse you."

Later that night, Regulus was walking home from the grocery store after buying ice cream for the twins and Mia. While he was walking, he couldn't help but to feel like he was being watched.

One hand slipped inside his coat to grip his wand, while the other held onto the paper bag properly, Regulus walked a different path and away from home. If it was a deatheater following him, Regulus couldn't lead them to Mia.

He would die trying to protect her from all of this.

Unexpectedly, a doe patronus appeared beside him and then stopped right in front of him. Regulus stopped in his tracks as the doe looked at him.

"So you are alive." Regulus turned on his heels and pointed his wand at the person. To his utter shock, it was Severus Snape. "Alive and well."

"How'd you find me?" He asked, wand still pointing at him.

"Does it matter?" Snape asked, completely unfazed by the wand in front of him. "I assume you're here with— Damon's sister, Amelia?"

Regulus' face hardened at the mention of her name. How the hell does Snape even know all of this? Did they finally catch up to them? Regulus would rather die than to let the deatheaters take Mia away and hurt the twins.

"Relax yourself, Black." Snape rolled his eyes, pushing the wand away from his face. "Whatever you're thinking right now, I'm not here to hurt anyone."

Regulus decided to put his wand away even if it's against his better judgement. "Then why are you here?"

"I wanted to check if you were alive."

"How do you even know I'm here?"

Snape merely scoffed. "Do you really think you were the one only Damon told his plans to? You're forgetting that I'm his best friend, Black."

"Why should I believe you?" Regulus asked. "For all I know, you could be here to murder Mia."

"Believe me, Black, if I had any intentions of hurting her, the twins, or you, I would've already done so years ago." Snape snarled, eyes narrowing at the man. "I promised Damon I would look after you and Mia. That extends to her children, even if they're the children of James fucking Potter."

That conversation was years ago. A lot had happened since and one of those was Sierra getting expelled from Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Now, the girl wanted to transfer to Hogwarts.

Mia and Regulus could have said no (they did, Sierra charmed her way into getting them to say yes). Regulus wouldn't be able to sleep at night if he knew that there would be no one watching her back.

There he was, waiting on top of the roof top for Snape. Severus Snape is the person Regulus trusts to keep an eye on Sierra.

He'll keep her safe.

Everything will be alright

Everything was not alright.

Regulus was quiet as he processed the entire occurrence. There were countless possibilities that could go terribly wrong if someone were to find out Sierra's true identity, but Sierra is smart. Regulus knew that she wouldn't leave any form of evidence of who she really was in her dorm.

"Should I be worried and take her home, Snape?" Regulus finally spoke. "Is she in any form of danger?"

"Honestly, it will look suspicious if she were to go home now." Snape started. "She's not in any form of danger. It might have been a prank. The investigation is still on going."

Regulus sighed in relief. "Good. That's good."

"There's another news." The Potions Professor said which got Regulus in a serious mood again. "You and Mia should be getting this letter soon, but I assume you're aware of what the Triwizard Tournament is?"

"Yes." Regulus answered hesitantly.

"Hogwarts is hosting the games." Snape paused. "Drumstrang is coming to Hogwarts as well as Beauxbatons."

"Fuck."
