Alex's POV:

Angela, my dad, and I were in the living room, sitting on the couch and watching tv while waiting for out guests. Then my mom walked in with the mom, the girl, and I guess the older brother.

My dad stood up. "Hi," he said extending his hand. "I'm James."

"Joan," the mom said shaking my dads hand.

"Please, sit," my mom said. "Now I didn't know what kind of food people you are, so I have a few games. And while were waiting, I can order pizza and we can watch football, or we could have a nice dinner, and I can make meatloaf. Its all up to you."

My mom always did this. She always consults with the guests, wasting more of the time that they could have been eating.

I looked over to Joan. She looked at both of her kids. I could see her son mouth the words football. "Um, pizza and football's just fine," she said. My mom nodded.

"Great, any favorite toppings?" My mom asked.

"Beef," Joan said. My mom nodded again.

"Great," she said, "I'll go order the pizza and then Game Time!"

"Um where's the bathroom?" The girl spoke up.

"I'll show you," I said.  "Follow me."

She got up to follow me. We walked to the door on the other side of the living room, then up the stairs. When we got to the top, I stopped. Then I turned around and looked at her.

"What?" She asked.

"You're just, beautiful," I replied.

"Okay," she said awkwardly waiting for the tension to be broken. There was a brief moment of silence and then,"I've actually got to pee."

"Oh," I said, "Right." I led her down the hallway and two a brown, wooded door. "Right here," I said stopping in front of the door. She went into the bathroom.

I leaned on the door waiting for her to come out. I don't know why I was so attracted to her. It wasnt just because she's gorgeous, but I felt there was just something about her.

Then the door opened me falling backwards into the bathroom.

She laughed a little, stepped in front of me, and extended her hand. "Are you okay?" She asked, laughing. I took her hand and stood back up.

"Yeah," I said. "Well, should we go play games, then?"

"Yeah, sure." She responded I stuck out my arm as if I was taking her to prom. "What?" She asked.

"I'll be your escort,"I told her. She nodded, then interlocked her arms with mine. We kept hold of each other down the hall and down the stairs, but before I opened the door she quickly let go.

"Um, its my brother," she said. "He'd have a fit." I nodded.

"That's okay," I said, "Secrets are more fun." I could see her smile. When we openend the door, everyone was sitting on the couched around the coffee table, waiting for us.

"Monopoly or poker?" My mom asked. I looked to the girl. She mouthed the word poker.

"Poker," I said. Then she smiled. Her brother shot her this look, and I could tell that I had done something.

"Sorry," she whispered to me. Then she walked towards her brother, head held low. I sat down on the other side of her brother, in between him and my dad.

"Hi," I said to her brother. He just nodded his head in response. "I like your shirt," I said noticing it had the Panic at Disco band on it.

"Thanks," he said. I nodded. Then my dad dealt the cards. Then it was game time.
