Alex's POV:
Because we live in Arizona, there's no snow for this Christmas, but it is a slightly colder day than usual. Its 73° right now. Today is Wednesday, December 24th.

I put on my gray sweatpants and my black Panic at the Disco T-shirt. Then I slip my phone in one pocket and my keys into my other pocket.

I grabbed the neatly wrapped present I bought for Nina off of my dresser. I bought her more than one present. I bought one secret one for Christmas Eve and two for tomorrow.

I head downstairs. Mom and Dad took Angie with them to do some last minute Christmas shopping. I head through the kitchen and out of the front door.

I walk down the three steps of my porch and cut across the grass towards Nina's house. Not one car is in her driveway. Neither Paul or Joan must be home. I walk up her porch steps and knock on the door three times.

There was and immediate answer, but then Nina came to the door. "Hey," she said. "I think we should tell my parents. Or yours. We can't go through this alone."

I nod, walking in and shutting the door behind me. "I know," I said, "I think we should tell them, and soon."

"Tonight?" She asked. Looking at me, eyes sincere.
"If you're okay with that," I say, taking her hand. I set the present down on the table. I sit on the couch and leading her by her hand, sitting her onto my lap.

She nods, "I guess so," she says, "And what's in that beautifully wrapped present?"

"A gift," I respond, "For you." She turns to look at me and puts one hand over her forhead, leaning her back as if she would faint.

"Oh you shouldn't have," she says, dramatically. I laugh.

"Yeah, yeah. Do you want to open it or not?" I ask. She nods, leaning off of my lap to grab the present. Then she pulls the bow off and neatly unwraps the gift.

When its finally open, she gasps. "Alex," she says, "Are you serious?" She smiles. She pulls out the book. "A baby book?" She asks. I nod.

"We don't want to miss a moment of his or her life. That's why there's a girl and boy version in there. But we can record everything, put in pictures of sonograms," I put my arm around her and pull her back to lean against me, and then we go through the pages of the book.

That's how we spend the whole night until her parents come home.

---
Paul, Joan, and Mr. P walk through the door. "Alex," Joan says, "Hi."

She walks in, taking her shoes off and setting her bags on the couch. Then Mr. P walks over to us. "What's that?" He asks, pointing to the book sitting next to Nina.

"Oh crap," Nina whispered under her breath. "Wow, Dad," she said louder, "Did you really buy me lots of things?" She asks, jumping out of her seat and attempting to grab the bags that were in his hands, but he pulled them away.

"Maybe I should go put these away," he said. "You can't see these tonight." Then he walked towards the spare room in the basement.

Then Joan grabbed her bags from the couch and headed after him. "So, what is that book?" Paul asks. Nina rolls her eyes.

"Can you keep a secret?" She asked. He nods. Nina grabs the book and heads upstairs. "Both of you come on." I get up and we follow her upstairs. Then she tells Paul about the conversation with our parents three weeks ago. Then she tells him that we're pregnant and shows him the book.

"Woah," he says. Then he plops down onto Nina's bed, taking in everything that she just told him.
