Nina's POV:

We were all sitting on the couch around the coffee table. Well, all of us except Walker's little sister. Then the doorbell rang. His mom got up and walked through the archway. Then she reappeared with three boxes of pizza in her hand.

"Pizza's here!" She said.

"Yay!" His little sister said. She ran to her mom almost knocking the pizzas out of her hands.

"Come sit back down, Angie," her dad said. Then she went and sat on his lap.

"We can put it away or finish first. What do you prefer?" His mom said.

"I'm starving," I said, "but then again I have a big appetite for someone with cancer."

"Oh, wow," his mom said. "I'm sorry."

"Its okay," I said, "I'm not gonna die any time soon....for all I know."

My mom gave me that look she always does when I talk morbidly about my cancer.

"Sorry," I apologized, knowing mom was going to make me do it sooner or later. "It can be scary just thinking if I'm going to make it through my life."

Her eyes started to fill with tears. "No," she said. "I totally understand. Say what you want, as long as you're getting through it."

I nodded at her. It was cool how cool she was about it. Most people either bawled their eyes out for me or looked at me like I was crazy because my situation didn't matter to me at all.

"So," Walker's dad said, starting to break the tension. "What school are going to be going to?"

"Um, I'll be going to Carter High." I said.

"Really?" His mom joined in. "That's were Alex goes."

I nodded. "Cool," I said. "Maybe you can help me tomorrow," I said turning to Walker. I smiled.

He smiled back. "Sure," he said, "I'd like that." Them we put up the cards to eat.

The three adults were in the living room still and us teens and the one child were in the basement/family room.

"Woah," Paul said walking towards their tv. "This is a wicked Game System. And I love all of these games."

"Thanks," Walker said walking over to him. "Maybe you can come over sometime and play me in Death of the Goblins?"

"Yeah," Paul replied. "I'd like that.

Walker turned around and smiled at me. I smiled back pleased at the effort he put forward into making my brother like him. I gave him a small smirk and nod of approval.

We were getting ready to leave. Then Walker's mom hugged my mom and then me and then my brother. And her husband did the same. Then Walker shook hands with everyone and his sister hugged us all.

"Bye," Walker said to us. Then to me, "See you at school." I nodded.

"See you," I said.
