"So," I started, after walking for a long while and stopping at the field, where we both started. "Did you do it?"
"I mean, your dreams."
Realization dawned in his face as he smiled shyly, "Well, yeah. I did."
A wide smile drawn itself to my lips, my heart fluttering. "How is it?"
"Actually..." He looks up for a second before releasing a deep breath and finally turned his head to me. "Let's go somewhere else."
I didn't even get a chance to say something for he already dragged me back to his car. "Saan tayo pupunta?"
"You'll see." He winks.
When we finally arrived. My eyes widened on what scenery that we've arrived upon. It was the same place where we went to, when my ankle got injured in our college days. I got too emotional for my own good, because my eyes immediately blurried my vision.
"Clive." I stammered. He got out first before opening the door for me. "Come on. It's gonna be a long story."
I got out and he swiftly turned towards the driver, "Kuya, bili ka muna ng makakain mo sa malapit na convenient store, tawagan lang kita kapag tapos na po kami."
I look at the driver to see him grinning as he agreed almost instantly. Ginutom siguro. Then, Clive turns to me with sparks in his eyes as he leads the way towards a flat surface and laid out his handkerchief on it. I raise my right eyebrow when he suddenly looks up and pats the said handkerchief. He sat behind me and pull me towards him, indicating that he wants me to lean on his chest while we look at the setting sun with the sky in the shade of orange, red and yellow.
He really is my peace. My safe and dangerous place. He leans his head on the crown of mine and lets out a sigh and chuckled. "When I finally sat in the position as a CEO, I already expected it to be hard, and it was harder than I thought it would. Marami palang two-faced sa'min kahit na kami na ang pinakataas na kumpanya sa Asia."
I hummed in response for him to continue, "Hinahanap pa kita no'n kasi may bagay pa tayong dapat pag-usapan. But, I think your family hid you from me too well." Bahagya akong natigilan. What happened?
As much as I want to ask him, I also don't want to interupt him.
"Sobrang nahirapan ako no'n, hon. Umalis ang tanging lakas ko, paano ko mahaharap ang problema ng kompanya? 'Yan yung tinatanong ko sa sarili ko, kung kaya ko pa ba na bigla kang nawala, but I guess it was all my fault. I let something stupid get into my head and I suffered because of it."
He sighs, once again. "I know you can't remember what happened, but I wanna be in advance, so that when it comes, you'll already know my side. Ikaw nalang ang bahala kung tatanggapin mo pa ba ako o hindi."
The birds and crickets chirping as the wind carries our skin, the sun's golden color touching our skin as we let ourselves go in eachother's space. "What about your dreams? Did you achieved it, Clive?" I turn towards him as he looks at me with smiling eyes.
"Of course, paano ko mapapatunayan na karapat-dapat mo akong mahalin kung hindi ako matapang kahit wala ka sa tabi ko." I rolled my eyes, "Mamaya na ang cheesy lines mo, kwento mo na kasi."
He laughs and kisses the back of my head after it. "Okay, Mrs. Gucci."
I snickered.
