Liz Hemmings.

Luke Hemmings.

Hemmings.

Is she Luke's mother? They look alike for some reason though.

And who came to my mind was none other than ms.-know-it-all, Emily.
Meet me in the parking lot after school.

I texted Emily. She probably know about Mrs. Hemmings.

"She is Luke's mother."

Right. She was. I didn't know if her mother was a teacher. Well, Luke didn't really tell me about his life anyway. "But Luke won't be taught by her. You know, since his math teacher isn't Mr. Clarkson."

"I don't know that." Emily really knew about everything in this school. I had no idea where she found them all. Like when did she have the time to study everything so fast? This talent was unreal.

"I know. Well, come on, Lil. I'll drive you home. Or we can hang out before we're headed home?"

I grinned, "hanging out would be cool."

On the way to the mall, I remembered that Grey said he'd pick me up. So I texted him to let him know that I didn't need a ride from him.

I'm hangin' out with Emmy. No need  to pick me up.

He replied within seconds.

Cool. Be safe.

"Let's eat first! My stomach won't stop growling before I feed it." I whined.

"Okay, little bubble."

My phone buzzed in my pocket. I checked and I got a text from... Luke? Really?

Lily, it's me Helen. Can you please come over? I'm bored :(

I grinned through the text. Helen used Luke's phone to text me and wanted me to come over. "You! Didn't you hear what I was saying?" Emily asked, glaring at me. "what? I'm sorry. I got a text from Helen. She asked me to come over."

"Really? What did you do to her? I thought she was shy around you?" Yes, I told her about what happened back at Luke's place on Helen's birthday. I told her everything except that moment when we were at that park.

"She was. I don't know what's gotten into her but isn't it a good news? And you'll let me gooo, right?" I had my puppy-eyes-mode on and she rolled her eyes.

"First, you're right that it's a good news. And second, I hate to say this but yes, you can go." I hugged her immediately that she almost fell to the ground. She laughed along with me and I waved goodbye to her.

I couldn't help but grin through my way to Luke's. I didn't even know why I was so excited.

Luke's POV

My doorbell rang. It was probably Lily. But, it was so quick. I walked towards the door and opened it, "Wow, Lily you're so-Mom?" What the hell? And did I just say Lily's name? God, she might think I was expecting a girl to come here. "Expecting someone else?" Ha, told you. It was obvious she'd ask me that.

"Uh, nothing. Just come in, mom."

She would definitely ask me about her. We were sitting in the couch. "Here." I gave her a cup of tea. "Thanks, honey. Where's Helen?" I walked towards the kitchen and grabbed my tea.

"Uh, she's sleeping." Did I look nervous? Because it felt like it. "I'm substituting Mr. Clarkson for a week."

"Mr. Clarkson?" I asked her. I took a sip of my tea. "Yea, he's one of the maths teachers at your school but he doesn't teach you. He teaches Lily." I choked. I thought after that long-enough conversation she wouldn't bring it up. I saw her face and she smirked. Right, she might think I had a feeling for her. Well..

"Mommy?" Helen finally woke up. She ran towards mom and hugged her tight. I smiled. Seeing her happy really made me happy.

The doorbell rang again. Now it would definitely be her. I stood up but my mom stopped me, "I'll get it." She winked.

Oh man.

Lily's POV

I pressed the bell of his apartment and waited for someone to open it.

The door opened, "Hey Lu-Ms. Hemmings?"

"Yes that's me! And you're Lily. Luke was expecting you to come when he opened this door for me earlier." She laughed.

Okay, just what was happening here?

"Come on, Helen's waiting for you too." Was I missing something?

I stepped inside and when Helen saw me, she hugged me tight. I laughed, "Hey, little angel!" I greeted her.

She giggled, "hey, big angel!" She replied. I laughed again. "Come on, sit right there," she pointed at the couch, "and I'll bring you tea if you wanna?"

I smiled, "that would be nice."

So I sat on the couch, a few meters away beside Luke. He was busy with his own thoughts, I could tell. His eyes were focused on the TV screen but he was obviously not watching. He wasn't blinking.

What was he thinking? What was on his mind?

Then he blinked and came back to reality, acknowledging the fact that I was looking at him. Crap! I looked away in a matter of second and searched for Helen's figure in the kitchen.

But she wasn't there.. where was everyone?

Luke stood up and walked away.

There goes his cold side again.

"I'm sorry I was peeing." Helen said. I smiled at her, "it's fine." She was so innocent.

Then I saw her mo-Mrs. Hemmings walking towards us, smiling. "Hey, Lily."

"Um, hi Mrs. Hemmings."

She chuckled, "No need to be so formal, I don't really like it actually. Just call me Liz" she smiled. "Of course, Mrs-Liz, I mean."

"So, where's Luke?" She asked. Well she was the mother here why did she ask me?

"I don't know. He left just now. So maybe in his room?" I said. She nodded. Then Helen came.

"Mom, you wanna stay over?" Helen asked her.

Liz frowned, "I'd love to, but.. I need to go home right now. There's so much to do." Helen nodded "ah, I understand. But, come again tomorrow?" Liz nodded and kissed her cheek. "Lily, can you call Luke? I want to talk to him before I go."

"Um, I guess you should do it yourself if you want to talk to him. Ah, it's not like I don't want to, it's just.. you know.. I mean, maybe he wants some privacy? Maybe he wants to be alone or something. I don't know if I should go there.." she smiled at me after hearing what I said.

"He wouldn't want me to come to his room. Maybe it'll turn out different if you're the one who's going there."

I doubted it. How could she say that? She didn't know anything just yet. And didn't she see when Luke just walked away even though he knew there was me beside him? Oh right, she didn't.

But I wasn't in the position to say no to Liz, was I?

"Okay, I'll try to get him here." I hated myself for not being able to say what I wanted to say to older people. I saw her smile before I went off.

Now, I stood in front of his room. Should I really come in?

Well, whether I like it or not, I still had to. So I knocked.

He opened it and had that furious face.
