Luke's POV

I didn't know what's gotten into me. Why can't I just act normal around her? She was just sitting and all I could feel was this indescribable feeling.

My door was knocked.

I opened the door and saw Lily. What the hell? Didn't she know I didn't like it when someone comes to my room? I clenched my jaw, "what?" I tried my best to control myself.

I knew I was acting like a jerk but I had never let anyone come here before. Even Helen had never come here. My room was my privacy.

"I-I came here be-"

"Just answer it straight to the damn point!" I shouted. She was startled. "Yo-your mom wants to talk to you." She was looking at her feet. She looked so scared. God, just what did I do?

I shoved her and walked straight to my mom.

"Mom, what do you want to say?"

"Luke.. please come home, honey. It's not the same when you're not there."

Here goes this conversation again.

"Mom, can't you see it? Helen's happy here. I don't want to see her living hell there. She had bullies there mom, she wasn't happy!" I half yelled at her.

"But she can do home-schooling." She lowered her voice.

"Mom, Helen is all you wanted for years. Now you have her and what? You want to see her sad? She's happy now mom. She has friends, that's all she's been needing! She needs friends! Why can't you understand it?" I frowned. She knew exactly that I hate it when Helen wasn't happy.

"I.." she sighed. "I'm sorry, Luke. I really am. It's just.. I miss having you two at home like you used to be.." Her voice cracked.

"No, it has nothing to do with you. And it's not like I don't miss it too, mom. Believe me, I do. But I just can't bear it, seeing Helen with the bullies just makes me want to rip their heads up."

I think she felt a bit better because she chuckled. Although the sad expression didn't leave her face. "Alright then. I'm sorry, Luke. I just wish we could gather at home. But I'll just go for now. You still need to come over though sometimes." Luke nodded and muttered yes. "I'll come again when I have time. See you, son." She kissed me. She spinned around and walked. But just like there was something that hit her, she turned back to me and said, "Ah, and Lily.. She's a good girl."

Lily's POV

Luke's expression before was something I'd never wanted to see. It was scaring me to death.

"Lily.. you want to stay over tonight?" Helen's question had woken me up from my thoughts. "Ah, I'd love to Helen. But-"

"Please?" She begged, "just this time. I promise I won't beg anymore." Now how could I resist her? Remember when I said I couldn't say no to older people? Well, let me correct. I couldn't say no to anyone.

But..

"What about Luke? He probably won't like it." I said.

"Dummy. Who says that? If Helen says so then I have no choice to say I don't like it." And with that, he's gone to his room. Seriously Luke?

"What movie should we watch, Lily?"

I was now sitting on the couch with Helen. She asked me if I wanted to watch movie with her. Of course I did. Who could skip movie night? "How about this?" I chose Monster Inc. "Wow! That's Luke favorite movie. Let's watch it!"

"Wait, Luke's favorite movie? He likes to watch this?" She nodded and giggled. I burst into laugh. "I can hear that!" Luke yelled from his room. I laughed even more and Helen joined.

It was almost 11 and Helen was sleeping on my lap. Then I remembered something, I hadn't let my mom know that I stayed over here. I called my mom and she picked it. "Mom, I'm sorry I forgot to tell you but I'm staying over at Helen's."

"Helen? Your new friend?"

"Um.. she's Luke's sister actually."

"Oh, the Luke guy again." I sighed. "Okay. But remember you have school tomorrow."

"I know. Goodnight mom, I love you."

"I love you too."

Then I tried to lift Helen up and brought her to her room but I couldn't. I walked towards Luke's room, hopefully he wouldn't be asleep. I was standing at his door and my heart was pounding hard. What if he'd be angry like before?

"L-luke?" I called him.

"What?" Okay, he sounded calm.

"I need h-help." Don't stutter dummy!

"In what?"

"I can't take Helen to her room." Then he opened the door. He mumbled "weak" under his breath and I heard it. Why so annoying? He lifted Helen up and brought her to her room.

He lied her on the bed. "I'll sleep then." I said to him. Before I turned my body to walk to the living room, Luke grabbed my wrist. "Where do you think you're sleeping?" he asked. "Uh, on the couch?" He rolled his eyes. "You'll sleep here. I'll bring the mattress, just wait." I nodded. He was being nice again. Luke, why were you so hard to understand? I liked this side of him. I really liked it. When he was being nice to everyone, it just somehow made me think that he was really a good guy. But when his cold side came, I just couldn't think straight.
What's this exactly?

He came back with the mattress and put it down. I whisper to myself after Luke left. "Thanks, Luke. Goodnight."
