I heard my phone ring on my desk.

Luke.

Seeing his name flash on the screen somehow made me smile.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Lily. You have plans today?"

"Nothing really. I'm just chilling in my room." He chuckled.

"We should hang out. How's it? I'll pick you up at one."

Did he just ask me out on a date?

"It's like, a date. If you want to call it that." Oh my, he really did ask me out on a date!

"Okay, I'll be ready when you're here at one." It was 11:20 when he called me so I still had more than an hour to get ready.

"See you there." He hung up and bam! I couldn't hold myself from jumping and yelling.

"Eeeeeeeee!!"

I jumped on my bed too hard that my mom came to my room with that look, "Lily, honey. You okay?"

Shit.

"I'm okay! Everything's fine. Don't worry. Haha." She showed me a weird smile and left.
Well, that was awkward.

I went showering for like thirty minutes. I looked for a pair of black skinny jeans and baby blue t-shirt in the closet.

It was 12 pm so I decided to get dressed. I grabbed my grey cardigan and went downstairs.

And of course my mom was there and asked me where I was going.

"Uh, I'm going out."

"With?"

"Luke..?" Then I saw her smiling. And I heard she mumbling something like "no wonder."

"What?" I asked her.

"Nothing, nothing." Is she acting weird or something? "When will he be here?"

I checked my wrist watch, "He'll be here in thirty. I'm just gonna watch TV for a while." I went to the living room and turned the TV on.

Then my phone buzzed. Emmy.
"Sup, Em?"

"I've been getting so bored. Can I come over?" Shit. What do I have to say to her?

"Hello? Lily? You there?"

"Uh, yeah."

"So?"

How do I say it?

"I uhm.. I'm not sure, Em. I mean-"

"Ohh I forgot, I have to help my mom" Huh? "Okay okay it's fine, just go. I'll come tomorrow."

"What do-" she hung up. Why is everyone so weird?

-------------

"Lily!" Someone squeezed my arm. I opened my eyes and saw my mom looking at me.

"Ugh, what?" She gave me a confused look and then it hit me.

"Shit! Is he here yet?" I didn't even bother correcting my language, I was panicked.

"He's outside. Now go. Take care, okay?" She hugged me and I left a kiss on her cheek. "Okay, Ma'am." I grinned and left.

There I saw Luke standing by his car. "Uh.. Hi, Luke." He smiled at me, "I'm sorry I fell asleep." I blushed in embarrassment. Why did I become so shy around him? Ugh.

"Sleepy head. You take every chance you have just to sleep."

"I'm not that bad!"

He laughed, "Now come on. Get in the car." He opened the passenger door and let me in.

Why did I suddenly become so girly? When he called me I was really excited that I jumped on my bed. I even yelled. This is so not me.

"Where are we going?"

"I'm not sure actually. Let's see." He smiled.

Weird. This weird feeling. Is this what it feels like to like someone? I could really feel like I'm on cloud nine just by seeing him smiling at me.

------------------------

"Karaoke? Seriously?" I asked him in surprise. Why karaoke?

"Yes. Karaoke. It will make us feel better." Better? Is he having a problem or something here? "No, not that I'm having a problem or whatever it is you're thinking. I mean, it's good when you can sing out loud without being asked to shut up." He chuckled. If everything's fine then it's good.

"Come on." He walked, leaving me behind.

"Oh, come on. I know your legs are longer than mine so you can walk faster but isn't it rude leaving a girl behind you?" I whined.

He smiled at me and walked towards me. "You're such a kid. Come on." He grabbed my hand and held it in his.

Shit. My heart. I'm not prepared. I need a book or a movie that can teach me to stay all calm and cool when my heart is about to explode.
What am I saying?

God, help me.
