My friend had invited me out for lunch so I accepted, hoping it'll take my mind off everything. Taking a shortcut on my walk, I ended up on Bill's street. I didn't know how to feel when I saw him outside his house with a puppy. He spotted me, eyes wide before breaking into a small smile.
"Hey Y/n, I didn't know you were back," he said approaching me. "I came back a few days ago" I replied, my eyes on the cute baby Huskey "Since when did Blair let you have a pet?" Bill chuckled as he scooped the dog into his arms. "She didn't, I'm a dog sitting for a friend" he answered.
I reached out and gave the puppy's head a small pat. I didn't even notice Bill was looking me up and down.
"You look different"
"Is that a good or bad thing?"
"Good, you always look good"
I couldn't help but smile. Even after everything Bill still managed to give me a serious case of butterflies. "Well, I best be on my way. It was nice seeing you, Bill" I said, trying to avoid any awkwardness. "I hope we can see each other again soon. I miss you" he replied. I took a deep breath. "I miss you too," I said before walking away.

"My boss gave me overtime, but he's kinda hot so I'll allow it" Anna chatted away, a glass of wine in her hand. "My boss could pass for my grandpa, you're lucky" I giggled. Lunch had been a blast, Anna always had crazy stories to tell me. "Oop- the wines finished. Should I get some more?" She offered. "I'll get it, be right back" I replied.
After excusing myself, I headed in from the patio towards the wine section.
"He's not gonna know," a male voice said.
I thought it sounded familiar but shook it off. I browsed through the wines thoughtfully.
"But what do we do if he does find out?" A female voice replied.
I froze again, I couldn't be hearing things randomly. Slowly grabbing a bottle, I looked around the sea of unknown faces.
"He's not going to find out" the male responded.
I peeped my head down the nearby hall, my jaw dropping in shock. Blair was almost cosied up to another man, I couldn't see his face. His hand was rested gently on her stomach. "I really can't thank you enough. You promise, in the end, it'll be just us?" She said, looking up at him. The guy moved his head, the light focusing on his features as I felt sick.
"I promise" Owen smiled.
