I kept writing until my hand felt dead, then I placed down my pen with a small smile as I stared at the deck of wedding invitations. "Is this enough?" I asked bill. He looked over and beamed with a nod. "That's perfect Y/n. I really can't thank you enough for all the help."

Taking a sip of water, I watched as Bill finished off the rest of the decorations. I would be lying if I said I didn't give a shit about the wedding, it pained me. But I'd do anything for Bill so I always agreed to come over when he needed me.

"Where's Blair?" I asked curiously. "She's at work, she'll be home soon" Bill answered, eyes focused. The music from the radio was the only thing keeping us from sitting in silence. I debated whether I should ask him or not but in the end, I did. "Are you happy, Bill?"

His movement slowed and he turned to look at me. "I guess you could say that. Why'd you ask?" He answered. "Well, it's just...I don't mean to pry but marriage is a big thing. You don't want to...Regret it" I said, wisely picking my words without seeming too insulting.

"Yeah, I know. Sometimes I still can't believe it but what else can I do? Her family have already paid for everything" he explained. I then continued on. "Do you think I'll ever meet someone?" I asked with genuine interest. He smiled at me. "Sure, but he has to go through me first."

"Oh really?" I raised my eyebrow "Why's that?"

"Because I'm not letting just any random man get with you"

"Are you saying you care about me?"

"Y/n...You know I do"

With a small grin, I leaned closer to him and playfully nudged his shoulder. He copied and we quickly got into a playfight, wrestling on the floor covered in the confetti that fell on us. I tried to wiggle away but he flipped us over, my arms pinned above my head, faces inches apart.

We stared as I fought back any urges.

"You haven't aged a day. Still beautiful as always" he commented in a half-whisper, his eyes wandered up and down from behind his glasses. "You flirting with me Bill?" I teased. His face went bright red. "Well, I-" he stuttered for a moment.

The slam of the front door caught our attention as we scattered apart. "I need the toilet" I lied before jogging out of the room and hiding in the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, my face was flushed red too. I could hear the voices of Bill and Blair through the door.

"I have some news" she announced.

I pressed my ear against the wood.

"What's up, hun?" Bill asked.

"My boss has decided to move some employees temporarily. I'll be out in California for the next three weeks" she explained. My breathing hitched. Blair was leaving? I could've almost punched the air from joy. "Oh...But what about the wedding?" Bill replied, I couldn't tell his emotions.

"I'll be back before then. My dress should be ready and I will have my parents pick it up, the rest is on you. Will you be able to handle it whilst I'm away?"

"Of course, don't worry hun"

It then went quiet and I assumed they were kissing. I felt out of place again, like something was off. But deep down, I knew I would have Bill to myself for three weeks and I was looking forward to it.
