A/N - I apologize for not posting in over a month, I've been taking time for myself whilst currently looking for a new job but I just couldn't take too long away without feeling a bit guilty for not updating, hope you're all well my lovelies <3

I was helping pops to fix the car, the sweltering weather made it almost impossible for us to do anything. "Blasted thing keeps burning me!" He cussed, throwing his rag down. "Let's take a break, how about I go buy us some ice cream?" I offered. He flashed me a cheeky grin and I knew exactly what he was going to say. "Mint no chip," we said simultaneously. "That's my girl" he gave a small nod before handing me some money.

Walking down the street was a mission itself, I felt like I was going to melt. Some townsfolk were even carrying umbrellas to protect them from the sun. The little fan I was using was no match but it was better than nothing. When I arrived at the little ice cream shop, the queue was longer than I had hoped for. I had to keep reminding myself it'd be worth the wait.

Glancing around, it was like any other day. I'd listen to the tweeting of the birds or the chatter of other people's conversation, my mind nowhere. That was until I finally reached the front of the queue. I had just given my order when a flash of green from outside caught my eye. A vehicle drove by and totally stole my attention, the people behind me got a little rowdy. "Miss? What're you havin' with it?" The parlour guy asked as I came back to it.

"Oh uh just sprinkles and sauce" I replied a little awkwardly, avoiding his gaze. I paid for the treats and was on my way again heading back home. I walked with pace, making sure pop's ice cream wouldn't melt too much. I was certain the sun was making me a little delirious when I kept seeing flashes of green.

'Cut it out Y/n! He's not here' I mentally scolded myself. Why was I giving myself false hope?

"Mint for my favourite person in the world" I called out when I arrived back. "You're a peachy doll you are" pops replied, tucking in straight away with the biggest smile. He really was a child at heart. "Hey pops...Have you um heard from Bill?" I asked suddenly. "No love, has something else happened?" He shook his head. "I keep seeing a green car" I sighed.

He chuckled "Maybe the heat is making you see things?"

"Maybe"

Dad disappeared into the kitchen whilst I made my way back outside the front. The street was quiet, the occasional random person walking by to whatever destination they were headed. I closed my eyes and tilted my head, letting the sun beat against my face. The sound of an engine caught my attention once again as a green car drove by.

I had to do something.

"Wait!" I called out frantically, legging it through the gate as I began to chase the car down the street. I had forgotten my sunglasses and kept squinting through the sun rays trying to figure out what model car it was. It started to slow down a little at the lights as I reached from behind. "B-Bill?" I panted.

Taking a clear look, it wasn't the mint green Buick Skylark but instead a clover green Fender Skirts. A man old enough to pass as a grandpa flashed me an almost toothless smile. "You lookin' for a ride sweetheart?" He flirted. I had to hold back a gag. "No no, sorry I thought you were someone else" I breathed out.

"See you 'round Hunny bun" he licked his lips before the lights changed and he drove away. I gagged, even shivering. "Fuckin' weirdo" I mumbled as I trudged back towards home. That wasn't the encounter I was expecting to have. I was disappointed, maybe even a little mad.

'Where are you, Bill?'
