In this chapter you meet my favorite character in this entire fic, you only see a slight hint of it here but the next chapter y'all definitely see why
"Good Morning", blue eyes woke to be staring at shiny grey ones. "How is my Queen this morning?", Killua's mind took a moment to register what was going on. The room was filled with a dull hue from the overcast clouds blocking the sunlight, a light breeze could be felt from the slightly open window. Then it dawned on him, 'I'm not at home anymore', he slowly sat up from the bed and took in the view of the person before him. He was met with a pair of grey eyes looking over him, giving a small yet genuine smile. "I'll wait for you outside", she said, seeing as Killua wasn't quite ready for the day. The tall ginger woman exited the room just as quietly as when she entered.
Killua rubbed his eyes, it would be rude to keep her waiting. He felt the cold wooden floor against his feet, as he walked to the closet to find something to change into. There was a variety of clothing but all ranged in different shades of white. He had no time to complain or look any further, quickly slipping into something before exiting the room.
The woman was indeed in the hallways waiting as she said she would, kinda, she had her head in the door of the King's bedroom. The Queen raised an eyebrow, what is this woman thinking invading the privacy of others. "Excuse me?", he tried to grab her attention nicely. She quickly turned around, bowing in apologies.
"I apologize to your majesty", the woman said. "I was just making sure Gon wasn't still in bed", she said the King's name so casually. This couldn't be some normal servant and if she was then she was way outta line. She began to escort him down the hallway, her hands behind her back.
"If you don't mind me asking", Killua started, "who are you?", he had to know, especially after noticing that this woman, in particular, wasn't wearing something a servant traditionally wears.
"I didn't introduce myself, my apologies again", she didn't bow this time, "I'm Mito Freecss, Gon's aunt and personal advisor", Killua was relieved, he would be a bit fearful to know their servant did any and everything. "Gon asked me to show you around the castle while we get a few things done today"
"He couldn't do it himself", Killua was okay with Gon not showing him around honestly he much rather preferred this.
"He had an important meeting that may take most of the day", the response was quick as to ensure Killua didn't feel tossed off to someone else.
The walls of the castle were filled with pictures of the King throughout the years, from when he was a child to him now. A few had Mito, others had the former king, Ging, Killua thinks he remembers his name from the treaty. But there were no pictures of a woman that could be his mother, with or without Gon in them. Killua had the urge to ask so he knew that would be rude to ask so soon.
The castle screamed cozy and homey but this place was still foreign to the new omega Queen. He stayed close to the ginger woman, several servants passed by, all greeting the pair, many taking an extra second to look at the Queen up close. "You all know it's rude to stare", spoke sternly seeing how uncomfortable the crowd was making Killua. The small crowd quickly disbursed.
Entering a small room, the smell of fresh pastries filled the air. The room was very intimate, it was far too tiny to be considered the dining room, but Killua didn't mind, to be honest, he preferred this.
A servant pulled out one of the few chairs that sat at the small round table, of course, took a seat. With the servant doing the same for Mito, they took a moment before consuming the food that was placed on the table. A pale hand was the first to grab a muffin, slowly nibbling on the sweet bread.
