This chapter is a little slow going but I like it, hopefully it doesn't suck too bad
Phase Two
"You've been complaining since you got here", it was early morning and the rain was still coming down fairly hard. The beta woman was preparing a cup of coffee for herself, between the surprise visit and the continuous rumbles in the night, she didn't get much rest. In all honesty, she hadn't gotten much rest due the past three weeks but last night was the worst of all.
"Maybe if my sister showed a little enthusiasm for my arrival", Mito simply rolled her eyes at the man sitting at the table. He gave no word, to her knowledge, that he would be stopping by for a visit. It was out of the ordinary for sure, he'd usually send a letter from time to time to give his conditions and whatnot but nothing major. "Most people are happy to see their siblings", he leaned back in his chair tilting it on the last two pegs.
"Most people aren't siblings with Ging Freecss", she shot back, taking a sip from her highly caffeinated drink.
"Even more reason for you to be overly excited", he smirked, fully aware he was only annoying his younger sister. She would never admit that which only made him continue his actions. Picking with her was still one of his favorite pastimes, well that and stirring up other fun mischiefs.
Mito knowing that going back and forth with him would be exactly what he wanted she decided to let out a breath of frustration to herself before having a seat. Having Ging here was foreign yet so familiar, it had been years since he had been home but he still carried himself like he was the king.
The two of them sat at the table, enjoying the lingering pitter pitter-patterpitter-patterpatter of the drops of rain. It was almost a pleasant sight if anyone didn't know any better, the two siblings managing to sit together in a room with no arguments or threats. The ginger woman couldn't remember the last time they had been able to do this. Even at such a young age, the two were always at odds, it all stemmed from the older's desire to be better than the next, in everything. The small witty games between Ging and Mito, turned into him ruling the kingdom and gaining assets from playing a game strategy winning by being cunning and crafty, case and point, Killua. Though she couldn't be too upset over that, he didn't find his son the love of his life, but still. There was a hidden agenda the reason the man was so pressed about the marriage being completed, the alpha never said anything that would lead anyone to think that but Mito knew who he was and she could feel it in her gut. It was nothing for the time being so she decided against saying anything.
The grey hues watched the man across from her sit across from her with his eyes closed, remaining completely silent. She would like to think that he had fallen asleep at the table, but she knew it was too good to be true. He was likely planning something in that well-developed brain of his, such a blessing for him and a curse for those around him. "Where is my son?", he broke the solemn silence, with a question that was bound to be asked sooner or later.
"He's still in bed", it was still a little early for the king to be up and about. Adding the events from yesterday Mito wouldn't put it past him to sleep in a bit later than usual. "He'll be up soon enough", she went back to her morning pick-me-up, noticing that her brother hadn't opened his eyes, assuming that he had gone back to thinking.
"And what about the omega?", it was no effort whatsoever to take her attention away from the mug back to the only other person in the room.
"You mean Killua", of course, that's who he meant, there was no omega in the castle, but she had to confirm.
"Yes", eyes still closed. "How has everything been going?", he tapped his fingers against the wood at the same rhythm of the rain tapping against the roof.
