The Rising Action
Warning: this chapter is boring af, you have been warned
"Ahh, someone's awake", was the first words to reach the still pink ears of the pale omega as the blue orbs fluttered open. It had taken a moment for the voice to completely register to him, still in a daze from being knocked for God knows how long. Blinking a few times to correct his darkened blurred vision only to see the room was indeed dark. His head still aches a bit so maybe the lack of light was for the best but his vision was unfortunately impaired. Tilting his head towards the sound of the voice, the only thing he was able to make out was the person's large stature.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who was sitting next to him, he didn't remember much but he had definitely remembered the conversation he had with his husband before everything went mostly dark.
Sitting up quickly, and narrowing his eyes at the man, "what did you do to me?"he asked, ignoring how lightheaded he felt from the swift movement, a cool rag falling in his lap. The figure didn't move much, but the shoulders lifted and relaxed slowly as though the man had taken a deep breath.
"Someone is already riled up", the words weighed heavily with exhaustion, "you should be grateful".
Being alone with the alpha who had threatened him a few 'hours' prior was not something the omega should be grateful for, if anything he was more furious than before at the very idea. "Grateful?!", he scoffed, "I don't think so", crossing his arms at his chest.
Stay Calm.
There was a pause before the man responded trying to think before speaking once more. It was more difficult than he had originally thought to be wary of what he had said. Right as he opened his mouth to speak, words escaped from the smaller teen's mouth instead. "You probably didn't do anything helpful", he stuck his nose into the air.
"I'm one of the reasons, you're alive", he might've been one of the contributing factors to Killua's fever getting so high in the first place, arguing with him rather than checking him out.
"I'd rather die than be indebt to you"
"I'll remember that for next time", the man had enough of the omega, he regretted the words as soon as they escaped his mouth. "I'll take that back", he corrected himself, "I'll leave in the care of the maids", he was unsure if it sounded better or worse but at the moment his tired brain kept him from comprehending. Leaving the room, announcing to a nearby maid that he would be in his office.
Killua was lost for words, he usually cry at something so hurtful but he did do it to himself, so he sucked it up. Not counting that strike against the man.
XOXO
The tall beta woman walked straight into the omega's room, without a knock, since he had asked for her presence. "Aren't I glad that you're finally awake?", she gleamed a smile, pulling the curtains back to allow the sunlight to cut through the darkness and allow in heat. Or that was the plan but the weather was overcast yet it was still a more pleasant sight than the bedroom. "How are you feeling?", she sat by his bedside.
"I'm okay", he told her, he still had a slight headache and a racing heartbeat from the threat he had kinda brought among himself but he didn't tell her about that.
"Great", she said that it would take a while before he was a hundred percent again, he was sure that was going to be an obstacle and he didn't mind until, "I was worried sick, after day two.....", he didn't hear the rest of what the woman had said, his mind still stuck on the phrase, 'after day two'.
He cut her off, not trying to be rude but he wanted to know the extent of the situation, "how long was I out?", he originally thought he was out for a few hours, yet Mito was spinning a totally different narrative that he didn't expect.
