Ivy Moore

"I like this one." Alek tells me as he points to a drawing of a boy's face.
"Really? I thought it sucked." I say as I study my drawing.
Alek and I were in the library, he was studying for his college exams coming up while I worked on some of my art. We've been going on more dates but haven't made anything official. I was starting to feel something towards him but my mind kept going back to Paxton. Whenever Alek and I went out I would forget about Paxton, which felt like a good thing because it meant I was starting to move on.
"It's amazing, Ivy." He voices.
I smile at him.
"Thanks Alek." I say.
He smiles at me before going back to his studies.
I continue to draw in my journal and add details to the drawing of the boy. I've never seen this boy before I just began drawing one day and this appeared.
"So, we're still on for Saturday night?" Alek questions.
I look up at him.
"Yup." I answer.
"Good." He says as he smiles.
"What are we gonna do?" I ask.
"It's a surprise." He tells me.
"I hate surprises." I state.
"Well, too bad buttercup." He jokes.
I roll my eyes playfully and he chuckles at me.
I move my gaze to the clock hanging on the wall. It was already 4 pm, I've been here for 3 hours.
"I should head home." I announce as I begin to gather all my stuff.
"Do you want me to walk you home?" He questions.
I get up and throw my back up over my shoulder.
"No, it's fine." I kindly rejected his offer.
He nods.
"Well, I'll see you Saturday." He says as he places a kiss on my cheek.
I stand there frozen for a moment before calming down and smiling at him.
"See ya." I say before rushing out of the library.
I walk out and I'm hit with a strong warm breeze, I grip the straps of my backup tighter before walking down the steps and back to Elle's.

"So how's Alek?" Elenor asks as she cleans the dirty dishes.
"He's fine. We're going on a date this Saturday." I tell her.
I sit on the kitchen island eating grapes Elenor bought.
"That's exciting, you two seem to be getting very close." She says.
"Yeah, you could say that." I laugh.
"I'm happy for you, Ivy. You seem to have moved on." She states.
"Yeah, I did." I lie.
She turns off the faucet and grabs the kitchen towel to dry her hands. She turns to me and smiles.
"I'm gonna head to bed." She announces.
I smile and nod before I watch her walk out of the kitchen.
I sit on the kitchen island and stare down at the bowl of grapes in my hands.
Paxton, Paxton, Paxton.
I sigh before placing my bowl of grapes down and jumping off the counter. I turn all the lights off and jump on the couch and force myself to fall asleep.
Paxton, Paxton, Paxton.
