Paxton Clark
~~~~~~~~~~~
I stare down at my homework trying to stay focused but all I could think about was Ivy. She's everywhere. Every book I read I think of her, every time I look across the street I wonder what she's doing but she said all those terrible things to me in the library. I know I should hate her for saying those things but I don't. I could never hate that girl.
All of a sudden my bedroom door opens and my uncle walks in, his shirt soaking wet in alcohol...
~~~~~~~~~~
I walked down the hallway, my stomach sore from last night. I reach my locker and open it. I looked down at my hand that had cuts on it from the glass again. Luckily, it was my hands and not my face this time. I'm glad I'm not suspended anymore, I hate staying home all day.
I hear the sound of heels tapping against the floor and I turn my head and look at the end of the hallway and see Ivy walking in. She walks up to her locker and opens it.
"Morning, tesorina." I greet her.
"Leave me alone." She snaps.
I smirk at her.
I looked down at her outfit, she was wearing a red tube top under her leather jacket. I stare down at the huge purple bruise on the side of her stomach and frown.
"Who did that to you?" I ask, furiously.
She looks at me and frowns. She follows my gaze to her hip and sighs.
"It's nothing." She tells me.
"Ivy. Who did that to you?" I ask again.
She looks up at me.
"I was on a mission." She finally answers.
"What?"
"I work for my dad. I had a mission last night and the guy punched me." She explains.
"Is he dead?" I ask.
"Yeah, I killed him." She answers.
"Good."
She stares at me and I stare at her.
"Ivy!" I hear a familiar voice call.
I turn around and see Tristen walking over, his face healed pretty well since the fight.
He glares at me once he reaches us.
"Welcome back, Clark." He says as he throws his arm over Ivy's shoulder.
I clench my jaw as I stare at his arm touching her.
"Let's go Tristen." Ivy says as she drags Tristen down the hall.
I slam my locker door shut and walk to class.
~~~~~~~~~
"I think I got it." I said to my trainer.
"Make sure to grip it tightly." He tells me.
William put me in training so I could start working for him. My trainer Ben was teaching me how to use a gun. Well, a fake gun right now since we're inside William's office building.
I aim the gun at the dummy and pull the trigger. I watch the fake bullet hit the target in the leg.
"Not bad, Paxton. You're getting better." Ben says.
"Thanks." I tell him.
"You stay here and keep practicing, I have to attend a meeting." He tells me.
I nod at him before he walks out of the room.
I pull the gun up and aim it at the head and pull the trigger. The bullet hits the target straight in the head.
"Nice job, Paxton." I hear a voice say from behind me.
I turn around and see William, James, and Ivy standing near the door watching me.
"Thanks." I tell James.
"Paxton, you know James, right?" William says.
I nod.
"Nice to see you." I tell James.
He nods at me and smiles.
"This is his daughter, Ivy." William introduces.
I stick my hand out for Ivy.
"I'm Paxton." I smirk at her.
She glares as she shakes my hand.
"Nice to meet you." I say to her.
"Mhm." She hums as she pulls her hand away and crosses her arms over her chest.
"Well, I was showing James around the building. Why don't you and Ivy continue shooting targets in the meantime." William suggested.
"I'd love to." I say as I keep my stare on Ivy.
She sighs.
"Alright, have fun." James says before walking out with William.
I grab a fake gun and hand it to Ivy.
"Do you want me to show you how to hold it?" I ask her.
Ivy rolls her eyes.
"I've shot a gun before, a real one." She says before shooting the target straight in the end.
I smirk.
"Nice shot, tesorina." I tell her.
"Thanks." She says.
We both hold our guns up and point it and a dummy.
"Go." She announces.
We both shoot the target straight in the head.
"I definitely did it better." I sneer.
Ivy lets out a small laugh.
"You wish, blondie." She says before shooting both legs of the dummy.
"He's definitely not going anywhere." I joke.
Ivy laughs.
"Let's see if I can shoot you." She says as she points the gun at me.
I point my gun at her.
"Then we'll die together, tesorina." I tell her.
"No, I would never die for you." She says.
"You don't know that." I smirk at her.
"You're crazy to think I'd ever love you, blondie." She states.
"I'll make sure you fall in love with me one day, tesorina." I announce.
She rolls her eyes at me before pointing her gun at the dummy.
"I'd like to see you try." She says as she pulls the trigger.
I chuckle.
Ivy Moore.
You will fall in love with me.
Don't worry.
I'll die for you.
