Paxton Clark

I stare at myself in the mirror and sigh. There was a huge bruise around my eye and a scar on my jaw.

It was hard to clean them the way Ivy did but I couldn't go to her now. So I had to do my best to clean them but they kept getting worse.

I look down at my arms and see bruises and cut there too.

I sigh before walking back into my room and laying on the bed.

I can't go to school. They'll know, I need to drop out. Which means I won't see Ivy anymore. I don't have a choice though. I reach over and pull open my nightstand drawer. I move my hand around the drawer looking for my lighter.

It's not there.

I always put it there.

I sit up and pull the whole drawer out. I dump all of its content out onto my bed and look for the lighter.

"No, no, no." I mutter to myself.

I think back to where I used it last and I think back to my mission. I used the lighter to burn the body. I must have dropped it there when I ran from the cops.

I get off the bed and put my shirt on and grab my leather jacket. I run downstairs and see William passed out on the living room couch. I walk into the kitchen and grab his car keys off the counter and rush out the front door quietly.

I get into the car and speed off to the building where my last mission was.

Once I get there I park a few blocks down. I walk down the wet sidewalk until I reach the back of the building. I didn't see any cars so I walked around the area where I burned the body. I pull my phone out and use it as a flashlight. I point it at the concrete ground and move it around. I move it near the gray fence that was separating the two buildings and I see my lighter laying there.

I smile to myself before running over and picking it up. I had dirt all over it so I wiped it on my pants. I looked down at the lighter and stared at her name.

Ivy.

I stick it in my pocket and make my way back to my car and drive back home.

I pulled up in the driveway and turned the car off before stepping out, it was pouring rain as I locked the car.

"Paxton!" I hear her voice yell.

I turn around and see her walking across the street.

I walk towards her and meet her in the middle of the road.

"I told you not to tell him!" She yells at me as tears run down her face.

I feel my heart race as I look at the pain in her eyes.

"Why?! Why did you do it?" She sobs.

I told James about Tristen.

"I didn't have a choice, Ivy." I tell her.

"NO! YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME!" Her voice gets louder as the sound of the rain grows louder.

"Ivy, please." I plead.

"NO! HE'S GONE! MY DAD PUT HIM IN THE HOSPITAL AND I'M NOT ALLOWED TO EVER SEE HIM AGAIN BECAUSE OF YOU!" She stabs her finger into my chest.

She sobs even more as the rain and her tears mix together.

I watch her as I feel my heartache in pain.

"I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU, PAXTON!" She shouts as she pushes me.

I look down at the wet concrete ground as she continues to punch my chest.

"I HATE YOU!" I hear her painful screams.

I stood there as she punched my chest, I couldn't look at her.

She stops punching me and takes a step back. I finally look up at her and see the pain all over her face.

"I thought you loved me." Her voice came out as a croak as she sobs.

"I do, Ivy. I do." I state.

"No you don't. You don't love me, Paxton." She cries.

"YOU'RE A LIAR! YOU'RE A GODDAMN LIAR PAXTON CLARK!"She yells as she punches my chest again.

I feel tears start running down my face.

I grab her wrists to stop her from punching me. She looks down at the ground and places her forehead against my chest and cries.

"I needed him." She sobs.

I place my cheek on the top of her wet head and pull her closer to me.

"I'm so sorry, tesorina." I voice over the rain.

Her sobs grow louder as she wraps her arms around my waist.

"I need you, Paxton. I need you." She cries against my chest.

I close my eyes shut and hold her tighter.

"I'm gonna hurt you, Ivy." I warn her.

"I don't care. You can hurt me as many times as you want, but I'll always need you." She cries harder.

"I love you, my beautiful tesorina." I tell her.

"I know you do." She says.

I will always love you, Ivy.
